New Cath EMP

Instead of freezing the enemy ship for a tick, the EMP would fry their weapon system for good. The result would be ships unable to fire unless repaired/rebuilt.
Translated into the game it could work either of these 2 ways:
- introduce a "repair option" in ships production, with a cost between 5 and 10 % of the ships total cost and a repair time half the production time.
- fried ships are lost, but the owner gets back 90-95% of their initial cost, he will have to rebuild them using the normal ship production page. The Cath get the 5-10% salvage (we scrap the 40% salvage race bonus for Caths in that case).

I agree with Zaejii on this one. Your suggestion is different than his, but only in the details.

Well I must say I like this idea. EMP gets bit more nasty for attackers/defenders this way.

Repairing ships and constructions sounds like a new dimension to the game. Also I would love to introduce troops/people aswell (more micromanagement) and prisonary and scrab exchange on lost ships.

I liked the idea several rounds ago, but now cat has more than enough kill ships to make a 95% emp recall.

Perhaps the old subvert could be used instead of pure EMP.

Obviously would need a bit of thinking as red defence would happen again.

Quick one would be to have all ships subverted firing 1 init before its actual.
