Question I need to know my legal position on something
I live in a top floor flat and have a water meter. So now the scene is set I can begin my story and my predicament.

I just discovered that my downstairs neighbours have made a hole in my bathrooms waste water pipe and have added their own pipe to feed my dirty water into their house. I can only assume they are using it to bathe in and so forth. The thing is I and they are on a water meter, so that water (albeit dirty and disposed of) belongs to me and they are not having to pay as much for their water as I do.

Does anyone know what legal proceedings I can take against my neighbour for stealing my used water? I dont know how long this has been going on for but I can imagine they have saved a fortune by doing this.

I am extremely worried by all of this and my girlfriend is insisting on our waste water being taken down in buckets (by me of course!) and thrown in the garden.

Maybe they are also stealing your waste toilet water and are using and reclaimer system to convert it to usuable nitrates and fertilise their garden with it, growing vegetables that bring them profit. Profit at your expense!

It may seem insignificant that they're taping into his waste water and all, but the point has to be made this is not normal behaviour.

I think it may be too early for legal action as clearly you have neither confronted them about it or merely removed the added pipe.

Just wondering, is it illegal to pour poison out in the sink? Find something not illegal, pour it out, get them to wash in it and say you didn't know they were using your waste-water.

Where I live, every new house has to have a water meter. You also can't do certain things (like have sprinklers in your garden) unless you have one.
