Not sure why I'm wasting my time writing this. I imagine it will get deleted anyways, but what the heck why not?

I started Planetarion in the beginning of Round 2, got smashed by Fury and Tuba daily. For some reason back then when you got shagged by a bunch of Browser Based Space Game Domination Freaks you at least were given a kiss first. Sometimes you'd even get taken out for dinner and a movie.

Throughout the rounds I met some very interesting people. Some of them even to this day I consider as valueable and important to me as my RL friends. Although these faceless aquaintences hail from various corners of the Earth, they simply r0x0r my b0x0rs.

I really thought at for a long time I cared about the Planetarion Community intensely, perhaps I did. I was never one of those super popular players who everyone knew, but I did my caring for the community from the shadows.

The biggest chip I've *ever* had land on my shoulder in *any* game I'll ever play came from the blatant and rediculous amount of massively organized cheating. I can't tell you how many times even my own comrades would invite me to a private server channel that had login names and passwords in the topic, especially during speed PA. You wouldn't even believe the crap I've learned my "enemies" partook in over the years.

But why get so grudgy about a silly little game? I dunno really. But to see if my chip was justified I went to extreme measures(I am well known as being a drauma queen from time to time heh).

I told even my closest friends I was departing my 2 year command position in my alliance to fiddle with HCP, the R9 Parallel 1 alliance I constructed. It was partially true, since HCP rocked and I really must say it was the best fun I've ever had in PA.

I really cut my ties to save my own face if ever to be caught doing what I did. I felt the need to see how serious PA crew was about cheating so I paid for and opened an entire private galaxy in R9. Never at any point did I use these planets for any benefit to myself, or my PA friends, or even my enemies. Everything they did was strictly unrelated to me or anyone I know of. Those little clones even had their identities and personalities and an active politics board to accompany it

They did however do lotsa of attacking and defending that was intentionally and blatantly obvious multi'ing. Never got shut down. Even after I anonymously reported them. Never got shut down. I could have literally posted a galaxy banner containing fecking login info. Still wouldn't have gotten shutdown I imagine.

Round 9.5 I intensified the blatancy of the multi'ing. Still haven't been shut down. The start of round these were nice sized planets too! Not crappy litle farms that are of no threat to anyone. It's now time to walk away from this disturbingly corrupt game.

So there you have it. I wanted to see where all my targets' defense was coming from these past 9 rounds. I knew it wasn't a 1337 Defensive Coordinator! Twas the Clones at work!

I will never, ever, ever-never, ever-never-ever-never-nay play PA again or any game that has anything to do with Planetarion's inept management.

It would be innappropriate to post here any reference to the new game I have fallen in love with and has a crapload of the good qualities that Planetarion used to have.

Great people, many of you. I'm sure I'll miss you all alot more than you shall miss me

intresting post and what I expected. It seems to me that the multihunters are more concerned with top XX planets/galaxies which is nice, but as this round has showen the smaller escort/defence planets are just as annoying, if not more.

I must admit, this is something I always wanted to try - cheating as blatantly as possible and seeing if it was possible to get away with it. However, I suppose I don't really have to do it now

I guess I am one of those "interesting people" P0ma refers to. He's almost like the brother I never had.

I'll admit I assisted him in his little exorcise this round. After going virtually inactive after continuously providing evidence of multies etc and being told they couldn't close them because "It is his brother and 2 work mates that escort him every day on his attacks and they all log in from his work" ROFL , yeah, right. and I am the Prime Minister of Australia.

My involement has been limited more to alliance admin recently (and playing the same game as P0ma).

I would say that next round I will limit myself to admin as I can't abandon people. But the spark has gone from the game itself.

IF Planetarion is to survive, they have got to make a decision to be serious about stamping down on cheaters.

This is what I would call "PA is busted" if someone reporting themselves for multi-ing cant get deleted, then there is no chance for anyone else.

I can't wait for a comment from someone from PA...or will someone just delete this thread ?

we already knew the pa team were a tad inept, To this day i do not know how my galaxys mass login sharing during r5-7 went unpunished, i mean we went back and forth recalling and resending with only the 2 same IP's, crazy. If they could'nt catch us who the hell can they catch.

Cheating in PA has been rampant since rd1 and never has quit happening.

anyways, i figure ill be joining you out the door once this little round ends.

PA lost its luster ages ago heh.

sounds about right...

mate has still 21 planets though he ain't playing round real but now and then when he get's online he can cover pretty much a whole galaxy alone or send to some wierd defence around 400k ships i gues if he can be bothered to log on all those accouns. (and using logins in topic on irc chan.. geez that's so obvious that tbh didn't ever think someone could be so hmm.. straightforward)

Spotted 9 fleets from 8 planets on eta 4 this morning when i woke up, launched between 02:02 and 02:38, all with at least 2 minutes interval. They are all smaller than 3.5 M, while i am/was about 5M (yeah I know, smallish

). I ran my fleet since my crappy gal had more incomings and I had no defence from them. All 9 fleets (one of them send a CR fleet one tick behind). After the second tick @ 11:14 the first pulled, then 11:15, 11:20, 11:22, 11:26, 11:37 and 11:38. When i saw this i started sectorscanning them all, and notice my surprise

when i only saw the one online who pulled at 11:38.

If at any time I can afford it (from time-aspects) I will jump in into that unspecified game and will come to see you. For the time being I simply embrace the memories I have of our time together.

And yes - I CAN confirm that cheaters are not caught if they aren't stupid. But since most ppl are stupid enough to still bother with having success in PA, I am not surprised that ppl get closed

And be it just fake telephone numbers

On days like this I would appreciate PA-Crew simply allowing multies. PA can only win from that. It would rid all "hipocrits" from this game and no one has to run around claiming "I don't cheat! I win because of my onethousandthreehundredthirtyseven skillz000rs!". Best multis with best time-management and most accounts and best bots win. Then improve the bots and in round 12 of PA no one would play this game any more, just hanging around on IRC, looking at their bot-scores and bragging about skills

The round 10 design and setup is meant to help hugely with this so give it a chance

We'll all miss you Poma, and you raise the subject that everyone is concerned about. The PA crew seriously need to address the massive problem that is multi accounts. I feel that if this cannot be delt with in time for round 10 the ranks of the PA community will be thinning even further...

well i`d never have guessed poma - you will be missed also !!

My personal thoughts is that alot of the cheating (multing) could easily be stopped by the creators by just allowing 1 account to be purchased at any one time. Being allowed to buy a full galaxy of accounts is asking for trouble!!, not many will keep using there credit card time after time just to get another account, plus its to easy then to check for multis - but thats down to greede by the creators wanting to get as much money in for the least amount of work. So then what happens - no one plays due to cheaters - game slumps - then less play - its a circle which the creators have to sort out.

I wholeheartly agree. I'm sick of seeing some planets closed whilst others blatently multi and seem to have PA crew blessings.
So another one bites the dust ! At this rate there will be noone to play rd 10 ; none with any prior expereinece that is.
It's been a pleasure playing with you p0ma dear. I will be bitterly disappointed, however, if you fail to log intoan irc server to have a chat from time to time.

Always nice to read your posts and threads as they consist no propaganda and are intresting to read. This one confirms it. Good luck in whatever you do, the games shouldnt weight too much as I imagine you're doing a lot better than most peeps from internet irl.

Current planetarion has lots of problems, hopefully r10 will boost this game to the level it once was. If not, we'll see lots of great players and characters leave this game. If there wont be any solutions in r10 to the problems, I hope PaTeam will be able to make the last round(r11 maybe free round

) of planetarion good enough to end the era of planetarion. Nothing lasts forever.

Its a sad day for planetarion.

A nice illustration as to how easily cheating is got away with in this game. I don't think everyone cheats as heavily as you may suspect, but it is pretty widespread. Like Rob, I've had similar thoughts, heh.
