What would YOU do?
Take a job making a buttload of money doing some awesome stuff on the computer with training provided, annual bonuses and raises, but no benefits and no real job security (ie, no contracts could mean a layoff).
OR
Take a job making real crappy money doing real crappy stuff, but has some benefits, stable work, and a possibility for promotion in the future.
This is my dilemma

take the job thats gonna make u a buttload.
do it well.
sort out a contract once they figure out ur indespensable (sp?).
and if they give u the sack, ull have been trained, which can only look good on ur resume.

Go whit A.
Then, if you get sacked, you will be better qualified.

Actually, this is my first choice, I think.
I have an interview next week with a company that does GIS mapping and other like things for a variety of uses, and it is one of the biggest private government contractors as well! They also make military topographical maps and the like.
I already have some training in the ARC-GIS software, but these guys are the cream of the crop. I think I would much rather work there as I KNOW I could make myself indespensible!!

First option. But if it's as well paying as you say I'd put a good portion of the money away until you feel you have more security.

option A
Careers are short, and even in a "Secure" job , companies have lay offs.
Take the money and run with it for as long as you can, and if the worst comes to the worst , youll be financially stable for the short period between jobs.
oh
and youre still a twat.

Option A...
Not primarilly for the money, but for doing the cool stuff and actually being able to grow as a person.

take a)
the company wont sack you easily if they have just paid for your training, that would be a waste of money (unless you really have no idea of what you are doing, but in that case a secure job wouldnt save you neither)
