Actions:
1) fire each Plasma pulse cannon on 1 runabout (2 targets) as soon as they re within range.
2)launch 16 fighter to intercept the 2 runabout attacking the Troth.
3)fire the ion cannons and photon cannon on the 2 runabout attacking the Troth
4)keep scanning the area for the pirate base, intensive scan and detail scan once found
5)launching the remaining fighter when the 3 remaining runabout return for their 2 nd pass attack
6)moving to intercept the runabout attacking the Troth
7)make sure the computer shoot up any torpedo/missile using the amd3.
remeber a ppc takes 3 posts to charge and then fire

that (the ppc) was the first super weapon in rommey, back in the day when the first got posted. the current 'superweapon rules' didn't apply back then. and our beloved LH is either too lazy, too busy, too forgetfull to change it... or maybe she's just hot damn evil.

Really? Was that changed? I didn't know about that. I thought it was standard 3 posts, unless specified otherwise; like in the case of the plasma pulse cannon, bio phaser 6 and meta hellbore cannon.

Incidentally, I never noticed that the twin blaster/imod cannon and quad blaster/imod cannon needed 5 mounts. I always thought they were 4 mounts. Does that mean they're also superweapons now, because I was under the impression that you could fire them every turn?

I looked from where I posted "Alright I'll take mission 1" to the last post and I don't see where she said "You have mission 1" or anything. Im either blonde or your jerkin me around.

EDIT - Unless your refering to her post "You can take mission 1 if you'd like". After that I said I would, but I need some direction as to what to do. Hence my previous question.

EO – shrugs – “They’re not.”

Fluffie’s fist slams down on the back onto the armrest of his chair. He turns around, looking at his EO.

“How? Why?”

EO – “One of their torpedo volleys must’ve knocked them out. Along with that, our Impulse Drives and AMD are damaged. Our hull and internal structure are suffering too…”

WO – “Systems report a likely 5% loss of weapon damage and locking ability.”

“**** them. **** THEM HARD. We are going to screw them over so. so bad their grandmothers’ll feel it with this time travelling and shit. EO, dispatch Advanced Damage Control Teams immediately to repair the Reflex Cannons ASAP.”

MD – “As requested sir... My report. Three dead, 15 injured. We are tending to the injured as good as we can…”

Fluffie takes in a deep breath and sighs. He had wanted to react harsh and violently, but it wasn’t the MD’s fault.

“Good. As much as I hate it, there might be more. Stay on the highest alert.”

MD – “Aye aye…”

EO – “Teams dispatched, normal engineering crews are trying to restore the AMD and Impulse Drives to 100%”

No. 1 – “Roger that. Good job. Sir, might I…”

Comms – “Sir! Data-feed from The Tuatha Dé Danann seems to indicate that the occupants of the Chrono Borg ship are in fact… Insectid…”

SO – “What? Let me look at that…”

No. 1 – “If those were to have allied themselves…”

WO – “Then we had better blast them out of the sky. Captain, permission to…”

”Comms. Order the Police Cruiser to keep in formation, but we’ll be starting our attack runs now. Weapons set to full power. WO, hit’em hard.”

Helm – “Beginning attack run, SIR.

Comms – “Police Cruiser acknowledges orders.”

WO – “Sir, might I suggest that we will be changing our weapons’ firing frequencies? Chrono Borg are able to adjust their shields…”

SO – “This might be true.”

No. 1 – “Right. Make the necessary preparations and inform the Police Cruiser too.”

WO, EO, Comms – at the same time – “Sir.”

In the blackness of space two ships, the Heavy Cruiser along with the Police Cruiser it was still covering for, shot forward with their weapon ports glowing with energy, this time finally allowed to discharge.


LH, I don’t like you for having taken offline my Reflex Cannons. You are mean. This summary is, in a strange way, a dislike to your meanness. I thought you loved me. If you did, you would NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER take offline my Reflex Cannons. You are mean. Very mean.
- Send both ADC Teams to repair both Reflex Cannons ASAP.
- Normal engineering crew tries to repair the AMD and Impulse Drives.
- EO tries to continue boosting shields and weapons.
- Heavy Cruiser and Police Cruiser start their first real attack run, concentrating fire (my WO is smart and told them to do so without even notifying Cap’n Fluffie), with the Heavy Cruiser still covering for the smaller Police Cruiser.
- Both the Heavy Cruiser and Police Cruiser prepare to change the frequency (or whatever) of their weapons so that the Chrono Borg will not be able to adjust.
Police Cruiser should still be repairing its damage and recharging its shields.

The Ankaa bar was full with ship captains, and crew. Jack Nitloc was just looking for a drink, something to calm his nerves before his first journey. He looked unsure about whether he would be able to cut it in the Merchant game. His father, Jack Senior, had been a merchant of many...misfortunes. His merchant fleet was destroyed by Rim Mercs, when his escort was confronted with hostile ships, and turned on him. Reports showed that remains of the turn-coat escorts were found, with dead among them.

Tonight, thoughts of his fathers death, and others rolled through his mind. His fathers death had always been the drive for him to graduate from the Ankaa Pirate Academy, and follow in his footsteps, with a little more fortune. Although Jack Sn had died when he was still young, he remembered the wild stories of escaping close encounters from borg, and riches beyond his wildest dream. His father always had ideas of grandeur. Jack Jr had no such aspirations, but he did hope to in some way to help the system prosper through trade, and maybe "make a little coin" for himself.

Jack took a seat at the door, wondering what his first move would be. "Ill have whats on tap please" Jack said to the bartender. The tall man behind the counter dropped a mug full of yellow liquid infront of, with thick foam on the top. Jack thanked the man, and began drinking.

"My names Sitruc, nice to meet you" said the man, as he moved one stool closer to Jack.

"Hi, the names Jack. Jack Nitloc" said Jack. "Do you want something?" said Jack, as he took another drink from his beer. "Just making friends, I guess your not here for the same reason" Sitruc said sarcastically. "No, im just here to collect my thoughts" said Jack, and took another drink. "In a crowded tavern, with alchohal? If I were your crew, I would be a little more then worried" said Sitruc.

"Well your not my crew- Wait. How did you know I was a captain?" said Jack accusingly. "I was a teacher at the acadamy you know. Untill they fired me a few weeks ago. Apparently women don't like to be slapped on their ass...repeatadly". "Charming" said Jack "What do you want?".

"Just thought you would like to know; there is a mission that suits your skills. You are the son of Jack Nitloc are you not? You do bear his name, and look strikingly like him" said Sitruc. "How did you know my father?" said Jack, a little stunned and confused. "I used to work on his ship as his Science Officer. He also let me go, too much respect for women I'd say." Sitruc laughed a little "Worked out for me though, it was right before his main fleet was attacked by the same people meant to protect him. Kind of ironic if you think about it".

Jack was a little annoyed at this point. He couldn't believe someone would regard his fathers life so lightly. He was a human being, a person. "Look, thanks for the information... but I would prefer it if you didn't talk about my father." said Jack, slightly pissed. "Ok, ok. Im sorry. Just owed it to Jack for saving my life and all, even if it was unintentional" said Sitruc. "As far as im concerned" said Jack "You saved your own life. You owe nothing to me, or my father. You are the one with no respect". With that Jack got up, paid the bartender and left the tavarn.

He walked upto the nearest mission terminal. "Theres the mission" Jack muttered quietly. He entered his name into the terminal, and uploaded the information to his ship. His comms officer contacted him.

"Sir" Announced the comms device "We have just recieved a mission log from Ankaa. They wish to varify whether we accept the terms, and they want to know when we will be leaving sir."

Jack answered the comms after a moments thought "Have helms ready for a pickup, for the Arms. Tell Ankaa we need a location for the pickup, and we are leaving as soon as we aquire the weapons."

With that, Jack Nitloc, new Pirate Captain, and Aspiring Merchant, set up to the docks to board his flag ship, and begin his journey to create Trade Routes through out Erridani system, and become known as a the single most famous Merchant Captain.

Cid watched as the main Phased Hellbore Cannon fired upon the asteroid, only to watch the sheilds around it taking everything they gave it.

SO: Sir, our weapons have done hardly any damage to that asteroid, it's sheilds are too strong.

Cid sighed as he watched the tactical readouts, watching as the time he had was slowly deminishing.

Cid: Okay, then I guess it is down to the troops. Send in two squads of 10 infantry units, one for each asteroid. All fighters are to distract those asteroids from firing onto the troop transporters until they are landed. Tactics are to draw their fire away and protect if possible.
WC: Aye sir.
Cid: Convert all redundant energy to the sheilds, I want them strengthened up and regenerated. Charge the main cannon again, I want it ready for taking on those destroyers.
EO: Aye, sir.
WO: Phased Hellbore Cannon charging sir.

Cid sat back down on his chair and watched the new tactical readouts appearing on the holo-map and his holo-display next to him. It was strange that he loved holographic displays, it always made things a lot easier.

Cid: And get me a coffee, something tells me I will need it.

OOC- I have added a little more detail to the asteroid field in order to make my plan work. Although I believe that this is part of the interaction between players and the DM, I'm not sure that you will allow it (although I see no reason why you wouldn't). Anyways, if you don't like it, you can ignore most of the post below. -OOC

TO: "The destroyers have opened fire on us, captain. Shields are holding, but we've taken some light damage to our hull as well as our ship systems."

Helm: "Taking evasive action."

No1: "Reports do not mention any casualties so far, but we do have a number of wounded crewmen."

Burnham: "Transport the wounded to the medbay. Get the MASH teams to help out where possible and order the ADCT troops to begin repairs on the ship straight away; important systems have priorty over less important systems. Burnham to engineering."

EO: "Engineering here. Sheila reporting in."

Burnham: "Sheila, can you use the spare energy units from our FTL drives to regenerate our shields?"

EO: "I can't guarantee anything, but I will definately give it my best try."

SO: "Captain, you should be aware that those asteroid bases are equiped with quad blaster cannons. They have just fired them at captain Killer's ship!"

WC: "Doc! Our fighters report that their fire has hardly made a dent in the asteroid base's shields!"

TO: "Confirmed. They suffered only minimal damage to their shields and most of it was due to The Gripstar's phased hellborne cannon."

Burnham: "Damn! We need to get hold of those bases if we want to prevail against these thugs."

SO: "Captain, The Gripstar has just launched their troops transports at both bases. They seem to want to try and board them without taking down those shields first!"

Burnham: "What? Are they mad?"

TO: "No. It can be done, but it is very risky. Then again, not doing anything is even riskier. A ground assault might very well be worth a try."

Burnham: "Hm. Very well. Order MC Kyra to prepare for a ground assault and give their shuttle permission to launch. Order the fighters to protect the shuttle at all costs."

WC: "Assault shuttle Omega has been launched and is underway. All fighter squadrons have confirmed their new orders."

Burnham: "Right, now let's see what we can do about those destroyers. What's the status on that plan with the gravatic missiles?"

SO: "Letice and I have let the computer run some simulations and we came to the conclusion that the plan needs some modifciations in order to have a chance to work. Allow us to explain."

SO: "As you may know, asteroid fields are semi-stable. That is, their place and density as a whole are pretty stable, but its internal structure is constantly changing and mostly unpredictable. This asteroid field is slightly different."

* The SO and TO, followed by Dr. Burnham, walk over to a seperate screen away from the main viewscreen. The TO pushes a button and the screen flickers to life, displaying a map of the asteroid field.

TO: This is a map of the asteroid field and these three large dots here, are our problem. They are three really big asteroids that keep the asteroid field in a sort of gratitational equilibrium. Any perturbance that is not sufficently big will be absorbed by these three asteroids. Our gravatic missiles are unable to generate an implosion that is big enough. However. If we study the positions of these three asteroids and add to that the positions of the enemy destroyers, it can be seen that the asteroids are positioned in a triangular position with the destroyers in the middle with this big asteroid here between right between us and the destroyers."

Burnham: "So how does that help us?"

SO: "If we manage to blow up this big asteroid and cause it to fragment, the gravitational equilibrium will be broken and the asteroid debris will move in the direction of the other two asteroids, crossing the path of the approaching destroyers. Normally this process takes a while to complete, however, we believe that if we fire all our gravatic missiles and detonate them at the correct spot, we can create a cascade effect that will speed up this process by a factor thousand. This means that effectively, we'd be shooting a couple of tonnes of asteroid buckshot at nearly half the speed of light in the direction of those destroyers. It won't destroy them, but it is very nasty and it will cause quite a bit of damage to their systems and their hulls if hit."

TO: "We recommend firing a barrage of EMP missiles at both of the destroyers to cause havoc on their ship's sensors. Without their sensors, they're as good as blind and they won't be able to properly navigate an asteroid field and they certainly won't see our asteroid buckshot coming at them. Like Larry said; it is very nasty."

SO: "The process requires some timing of course, but that shouldn't be a problem. What is a problem, is this asteroid. Even if we combine our AFD and AMD systems and direct them towards the asteroid we will probably not have enough power to fragment the asteroid. However, if we use our jupiter class bombers to 'soften up' the asteroid before we fire at it, it should be enough to tear the thing apart."

Burnham: "If we do that, will that leave enough defenders for our assault transport?"

TO: "Yes. It should. Especially if we fire some EMP rockets at the asteroid base too. Their sensors won't be able to track our transport, let alone get a weapon's lock on it."

Burnham: "It sounds like a good plan. Very well, make it so."

SO & TO: "Yes Dr. Burnham!"

Burnham: "Frank, Larry will provide you with the coordinates of a big asteroid. Order the jupiter bombers to unload their weapons on that big asteroid. The other fighters must still protect our transport."

WC: "Relaying orders to Alpha Squardron now. Beta and Gamma Squadrons remain at their original objectives."

Burnham: "Letice, fire a volley of EMP missiles at the asteroid base and then one at each of the destroyers and then proceed according to plan."

TO: "Missiles underway!"

No1: "This had better work..."

ACTIONS:

- Helm is taking evasive action.
- Wounded are being brought to sickbay and treated there. MASH teams are to help out.
- Damage is being repaired as fast as possible by ADCT troops.
- EO is trying to regenerate the shields using the spare energy units from the FTL drives.
- Assault shuttle Omega (carrying 2 shock troops and 1 heavy infantry as stated in previous posts) has been launched and is to initiate a ground assault on the asteroid base.
- fighters are split up in 3 groups:
-Alpha Squadron: 70 Jupiter Class -> bombers; attack large asteroid (NOT the asteroid base).
-Beta Squadron: 12 Slipstream Fighters -> escort; protect assault shuttle Omega.
-Gamma Squadron: 20 Light Fighters Alpha Class -> escort; protect assault shuttle Omega.
- One volley (20 rockets) of EMP missiles is shot at the asteroid base to disable their sensors so that they cannot target assault shuttle Omega.
- One volley (20 rockets) of EMP missiles is shot at each of the destroyers (so 40 rockets in total) to disable their sensors and hinder their navigation.
- AMD and AFD systems are fired on the large asteroid (NOT the asteroid base) to make it fragment after Alpha Squadron has softened it up.
- Six volleys (36 rockets) of gravatic missiles are launched and detonated at the right (computer calcualted) point between the former large, but presently fragmented asteroid and the approaching enemy destroyers in order to treat them to a friendly load asteroid buckshot as explained above. (I hope it is all clear. If not, you can always ask. )

4)keep scanning the area for the pirate base, intensive scan and detail scan once found
5)launching the remaining fighter when the 3 remaining runabout return for their 2 nd pass attack
6)moving to intercept the runabout attacking the Troth
7)make sure the computer shoot up any torpedo/missile using the amd3.
8)keep charging the ppc, then fire at 2 of the farthest runabout.
this is just a refresh for easy access for LH.

Looks like we are picking up a station on the edge of an Ion Nebulae sir - could be a ship or a space station - thats where they came from

again a volley of phaser fire and torpedoes hit you from the runabouts

The Ankaa bar was full with ship captains, and crew. Jack Nitloc was just looking for a drink, something to calm his nerves before his first journey. He looked unsure about whether he would be able to cut it in the Merchant game. His father, Jack Senior, had been a merchant of many...misfortunes. His merchant fleet was destroyed by Rim Mercs, when his escort was confronted with hostile ships, and turned on him. Reports showed that remains of the turn-coat escorts were found, with dead among them.

Tonight, thoughts of his fathers death, and others rolled through his mind. His fathers death had always been the drive for him to graduate from the Ankaa Pirate Academy, and follow in his footsteps, with a little more fortune. Although Jack Sn had died when he was still young, he remembered the wild stories of escaping close encounters from borg, and riches beyond his wildest dream. His father always had ideas of grandeur. Jack Jr had no such aspirations, but he did hope to in some way to help the system prosper through trade, and maybe "make a little coin" for himself.

Jack took a seat at the door, wondering what his first move would be. "Ill have whats on tap please" Jack said to the bartender. The tall man behind the counter dropped a mug full of yellow liquid infront of, with thick foam on the top. Jack thanked the man, and began drinking.

"How can you drink that stuff" said a man sitting a stool down from Jack. "What?" Jack replied, a little puzzled. "Beer, that stuffs horrible, how can you drink it?" the man said flatly. "Its easy, I open my mouth, and I let artificial gravity do the rest" said Jack smugly. "Funny." said the stranger. "My names Sitruc, nice to meet you" said the man, as he moved one stool closer to Jack.

"Hi, the names Jack. Jack Nitloc" said Jack. "Do you want something?" said Jack, as he took another drink from his beer. "Just making friends, I guess your not here for the same reason" Sitruc said sarcastically. "No, im just here to collect my thoughts" said Jack, and took another drink. "In a crowded tavern, with alchohal? If I were your crew, I would be a little more then worried" said Sitruc.

"Well your not my crew- Wait. How did you know I was a captain?" said Jack accusingly. "I was a teacher at the acadamy you know. Untill they fired me a few weeks ago. Apparently women don't like to be slapped on their ass...repeatadly". "Charming" said Jack "What do you want?".

"Just thought you would like to know; there is a mission that suits your skills. You are the son of Jack Nitloc are you not? You do bear his name, and look strikingly like him" said Sitruc. "How did you know my father?" said Jack, a little stunned and confused. "I used to work on his ship as his Science Officer. He also let me go, too much respect for women I'd say." Sitruc laughed a little "Worked out for me though, it was right before his main fleet was attacked by the same people meant to protect him. Kind of ironic if you think about it".

Jack was a little annoyed at this point. He couldn't believe someone would regard his fathers life so lightly. He was a human being, a person. "Look, thanks for the information... but I would prefer it if you didn't talk about my father." said Jack, slightly pissed. "Ok, ok. Im sorry. Just owed it to Jack for saving my life and all, even if it was unintentional" said Sitruc. "As far as im concerned" said Jack "You saved your own life. You owe nothing to me, or my father. You are the one with no respect". With that Jack got up, paid the bartender and left the tavarn.

He walked upto the nearest mission terminal. "Theres the mission" Jack muttered quietly. He entered his name into the terminal, and uploaded the information to his ship. His comms officer contacted him.

"Sir" Announced the comms device "We have just recieved a mission log from Ankaa. They wish to varify whether we accept the terms, and they want to know when we will be leaving sir."

Jack answered the comms after a moments thought "Have helms ready for a pickup, for the Arms. Tell Ankaa we need a location for the pickup, and we are leaving as soon as we aquire the weapons."

With that, Jack Nitloc, new Pirate Captain, and Aspiring Merchant, set up to the docks to board his flag ship, and begin his journey to create Trade Routes through out Erridani system, and become known as a the single most famous Merchant Captain.

ok Redgrave.. work on that plan fast.. we cant let this drag on.. actually.. fire two more quantam torpedo on each runabout that are attack the Troth, and fire weapons as we get in range, keep the fighter on their asses.. i m sure the other runabout are about to engage soon.. have the last 24 fighters launch as soon as they come in range.. more more mr.niceguy..

Mr Desautel , sent the ADCT work on the hull and internal damage . and put your team on engin repair.

Comm, send a message to the Troth to engage the nearest runabout.. we ll provide cover fire..

Mr.Redgrave.. keep charging the Plasma Pulse Cannon, they should be ready to fire on our next turn around.. keep them charge for the 3 incoming runabout.. use the Photon cannon and the Medium Ion cannon on the 2 closest target.. and have the Anti missile Defense 3 to fire on those incoming torpedoes!!

Mr Green.. log the station position, and start tying the computer to all targets.. i want then tracked and fire upon..

Miss Pool.. keep us in the back of those runabout.. maximum speed.. i want them out of the way..

Action resume
1)tracking ALL runabouts with improved ai and tactical computer
2)Fire a pair of quantam torpedo on the 2 closest runabout
3)fire photon cannon and the 2 medium Ion cannon on the 2 same runabout (the closest)
4) message the Troth to be more active in firing on runabout
5) have the ADCT repair hull and internal damage and life support
6)have engineer crew reapair the engin and divert power from scanner to shield
7)keep tracking the 3 far runabout and launch the remaining fighter if they make a hit run toward the cruiser
8)keep charging the PPC (3rd post) and fire at the far runabouts if they closed in.

No1 - Why have they not launched their fighters - according to the ships schematics they carry 5 borg fighters....???


on screen more borg torpedoes slam into your ship as well As Borg Phasers this time - it looks like the Borg mean business

Sparks fly as a number of control panels on the bridge explode killing a couple of crew - a large girder falls from the ceiling hitting you - but your chair saves you - however you have broken your leg and lost two teeth.

Fluffie takes in a deep breath and sighs. He had wanted to react harsh and violently, but it wasn’t the MD’s fault.

“Good. As much as I hate it, there might be more. Stay on the highest alert.”

MD – “Aye aye…”

EO – “Teams dispatched, normal engineering crews are trying to restore the AMD and Impulse Drives to 100%”

No. 1 – “Roger that. Good job. Sir, might I…”

Comms – “Sir! Data-feed from The Tuatha Dé Danann seems to indicate that the occupants of the Chrono Borg ship are in fact… Insectid…”

SO – “What? Let me look at that…”

No. 1 – “If those were to have allied themselves…”

WO – “Then we had better blast them out of the sky. Captain, permission to…”

”Comms. Order the Police Cruiser to keep in formation, but we’ll be starting our attack runs now. Weapons set to full power. WO, hit’em hard.”

Helm – “Beginning attack run, SIR.

Comms – “Police Cruiser acknowledges orders.”

WO – “Sir, might I suggest that we will be changing our weapons’ firing frequencies? Chrono Borg are able to adjust their shields…”

SO – “This might be true.”

No. 1 – “Right. Make the necessary preparations and inform the Police Cruiser too.”

WO, EO, Comms – at the same time – “Sir.”

In the blackness of space two ships, the Heavy Cruiser along with the Police Cruiser it was still covering for, shot forward with their weapon ports glowing with energy, this time finally allowed to discharge.


LH, I don’t like you for having taken offline my Reflex Cannons. You are mean. This summary is, in a strange way, a dislike to your meanness. I thought you loved me. If you did, you would NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER take offline my Reflex Cannons. You are mean. Very mean.
- Send both ADC Teams to repair both Reflex Cannons ASAP.
- Normal engineering crew tries to repair the AMD and Impulse Drives.
- EO tries to continue boosting shields and weapons.
- Heavy Cruiser and Police Cruiser start their first real attack run, concentrating fire (my WO is smart and told them to do so without even notifying Cap’n Fluffie), with the Heavy Cruiser still covering for the smaller Police Cruiser.
- Both the Heavy Cruiser and Police Cruiser prepare to change the frequency (or whatever) of their weapons so that the Chrono Borg will not be able to adjust.
Police Cruiser should still be repairing its damage and recharging its shields.
