Doom

DOOM

The civil war has been going on for three long years. The independents, not agreeing with the Terran Alliance policies in the outer-rim territories, have been waging a long and bloody war. Originally the Alliance tacticians predicted the end of the war in a matter of weeks, but the Independents, though cunning and guile have managed to make the Alliance fight for every sector gained.

While the Alliance military forces are formidable, they have their limits. Before the migration from Earth, the United Aerospace Corporation became the primary military hardware supplier for land-based weapons and vehicles. Despite the public loss of their Mars base, they rebounded with new technologies and branched into star craft. They provided the ships for the migration, and since the founding of the colonies have acted as a neutral military hardware supplier to all the colonies. With their status they amassed their own military forces, lending them out for use against anti-pirate operations and security purposes. Yet the Alliance made a tempting offer, which was a exclusive contract for the UAC in exchange for their assistance, and thus two years into the war the UAC joined the Alliance.

Throughout the war, ships go missing, typically destroyed but impossible to confirm. One such ship, the UAC cruiser Deimos went missing on a test-run for new and highly classified technologies. For almost a year no sign of the Deimos, and she was written off. A few hours ago, a UAC troop transport picked up a weak, automated distress signal from the Deimos. Most of the troops were being shuttled from the front lines, many of the wounded and heading for more advance medical treatment. However there was on-board a special-ops UAC team that was hitching a ride on the transport for shore leave. When the captain of the transport contacted his superiors, their orders changed. While the transport couldn’t wait around, they were ordered to drop a long-range dropship with the special-ops team, with their orders to scout out the Deimos, determine what went wrong and to protect the ship until retrieval, or in the event of capture by independent forces, scuttle the ship.

This is where you come in….

You are a special-ops UAC Marine, trained in combat both on the ground and in space. Your post recent mission was the destruction of an Independent shipyard, which was successful. As a reward, your squadron was awarded its first short leave in almost a 9 months. Yet now you were ordered to protect a MIA ship. Presently you are onboard the long-range Pelican Mk V dropship flying through a dense nebula towards the source of the Deimos distress signal. As you travel, you gear up and prepare yourselves for whatever awaits you onboard the ship.

Key Stats and the Like

[ooc]Everyone has the same body armor. Weapons you have a choice on.[/ooc]

Body Armor – Contains 12 equipment slots.

Special Ops UAC Marine Armor – This armor is designed for extreme combat in a wide variety of conditions. Completely self-enclosed, this armor is rated for use on the hottest of planets to the vacuum of space, all the while keeping the wearer at a comfortable body temperature. Cybernetic interface through the helmet along muscle-sensors tied to actuators increases the speed and strength of the user by a factor of three.
  • Helmet - The helmet comes complete with a audio filtering package, IR and UV filtering modes, universal communications unit, and a HUD with information on the health of other squad members and targeting information. Proper use of the cybernetic interface enhances the accuracy of the Marine by a factor of three.
  • Gauntlets – The gauntlet’s contain hardpoints for the attachment of a extendable shock baton (2 feet long, electrically charged staff, capable of shocking a typical unarmored person into unconsciousness with one hit while inflicting minor burns), utility vibro-saw (2 feet long, capable of slicking through most light metals found on body armor and non-reinforced doors).
  • Shoulders – The shoulders have hardpoints for shoulder-mounted weapons. In addition on each shoulder is a dual bulb high-powered flashlight that are activated either through the cybernetic interface of a switch on the shoulder itself.
  • Torso – The back torso is the most heavily reinforced, for it contains the power unit for the suit. In addition it also contains the maneuvering thrusters for use when in light space-duty. For extended periods in space a separate thruster pack can be attached. The front torso is similarly reinforced, with the armor split into three layers. The outer layer is designed to absorbed as much damage as possible before breaching. The middle is ablative in design, designed to reflect damage away from the torso. The innermost layer is a flexible material designed to absorb damage and cushion impacts. The front torso also contains hardpoints for the attachment of light personal weapons and grenades in armored slots.
  • Utility Belt – Heavily armored, the belt is where high explosives are stored, along with a basic first-aid supplies (liquid bandage, stimulates, wide-spectral anti-biotics, laser cauteriser) and basic armor repair supplies (liquid armor patch). In addition space ammunition and other supplies can be attached to the belt.

Weapons - Laser – Laser weapons were predominate among Alliance forces, due to their standing among the populace as a sign of respect and power. Highly accurate, and lacking the power to punch through starship hulls, these weapons are found on Alliance ships officers and soldiers. The UAC also follows a similar procedure; however they allow their Marines some flexibility when it comes to the type of weapon they use. Laser weapons have a reputation of failing after suffering minor damage, exposed to unique environments, or running out of power sooner than expected.
  • 5mm Wash & Tam Laser Pistol [1-handed, 1 slot] – Standard sidearm of choice, this laser pistol fires a .5 second burst on semi-automatic, a 5 second burst on automatic. Reliable and effective against flesh and light armors, able to punch right through a typical human wearing light body armor, this weapon also has it’s uses in keeping a enemy alive due to it’s high accuracy, lack of collateral damage to the target and that the laser beam cauterizes the wound. It runs on a standard power cell that carries enough charge for roughly 24 semi-automatic discharges (one discharge every 2 seconds), or 3 automatic discharges (one discharge every 5 seconds). This weapon is able to be tied directly into the armor for improved accuracy.
  • 5mm Wash & Tam Laser Rifle [2-handed, 2 slot] – A enhanced version of the pistol, the rifle comes with an enhanced power cell, capable of firing up to 100+ semi-automatic discharges (one discharge every second) or 50 automatic discharges (one discharge every 3 seconds) of similar power to the Laser Pistol. In addition the rifle comes equipped with a standard zoom scope and self-targeting systems. Like this pistol it is modeled after, it can be tired directly into the armor for improved accuracy.
  • Stun Grenade [.5-slot] – A grenade that contains a energy matrix that causes those nearby who are not armored to fall unconscious upon detonation due to a rapid application of energy. Those not as close suffer temporary blindness and deafness. The trigger device can be a manual, timer, or remotely controlled through the armor.

Weapons – Projectile – While phased out by the Alliance, the Independents switched over to these weapons in the early days due to their low-maintenance and resistance to damage. Working in almost all environments except the vacuum of space, these weapons offer high rates of fire in exchange for accuracy, along with increased collateral damage to the target. On ships they are used with caution, for while 99% of the time the rounds won’t do anything to starship bulkheads, there have been cases were a lucky or unlucky shot punched through and created a hull breach. Due to the lack of electronics in these weapons, they can not be tied into the armor systems for improved accuracy.
  • 9mm Browncoat Pistol [1-handed, 1-slot] – The weapon of choice of the Independents, this pistol carries a 17 magazine clip that can be fired either semi-automatically or full-automatically. Several Alliance marines have captured these pistols for their own personal use. Very reliable, the rounds can bunch through most light body armor, and typically cause significant internal damage to the target. Accuracy is lacking, but when used in close quarters a very effective weapon.
  • 9mm Browncoat Assault Rifle [2-handed, 2-slot] – A standard weapon used by the Independents, this rifle carries a 45 round magazine of light-armor piercing ammunition. Reasonably accurate for a projectile weapon, it offers a faster rate of fire than the laser or plasma weapons. Finally it is very sturdy, and works under all conditions. Also has a slot for an optional bayonet.
  • 9mm Browncoat Submachine Rifle [1-handed, 2-slot] – A smaller rifle that can be easily held with one or two hands, it contains a 30 round magazine. Lack accuracy, it however compensates for its exception right rate of fire that can empty the clip in 10 seconds.
  • Browncoat Shotgun [2-handed, 2-slot] – Using scatterpellets, this weapon use useless against all but the most lightly armored of targets. However its wide angle of fire and the ability to cause massive injuries to targets unfortunate to get in the way makes it a useful backup weapon. The shotgun carries 8 rounds that need to be pump loaded. Considered the most reliable weapon ever invented.
  • Browncoat Chaingun [2-handed, 3-slot] – A massive weapon that is feared by those on the other end, this weapon fires a steady stream of projectiles at nearly 5 a second in a wide arc. The velocity behind the projectiles also gives them enough power to punch through most armor. However accuracy is horrible with these weapons, they are known to jam, and their 150 round magazine can be empties to quickly.

Weapons – Plasma – Plasma weapons are pound-for-pound the most dangerous weapon available to UAC Marines. The basic designed of the XP plasma weapons is that they discharge a plasma burst, a high temperature projectile that can burn through most metals and burn into the victim, causing massive burns. However plasma weapons eat up their ammunition cells quickly, making them very inefficient, requiring a user to carry many space clips for prolonged combat. Due to their ability to burn through metal they are typically secured on the ships, and are rarely used for fear of creating a hull-breach.
  • XP-A01-Plasma Pistol [1-handed, 1-slot] – One of the first plasma weapons, this weapon is barely small enough to be used with one hand. Very accurate and powerful, the main drawbacks are the reliability issues, which range from the weapon not working to exploding completely and that it’s ammunition clip only contains six shots. It is also very sensitive to damage, but the sheer power of it sometimes makes it worth it. This weapon can be tied into the armor targeting systems.
  • XP-B04-Plasma Rifle [2-handed, 2-slot] – An improved version of the pistol, this weapon carries a 20-shot magazine and maintains the accuracy that the plasma pistol had. It also is slightly more durable, but still sensitive to damage. Finally the risks of this weapon exploding upon firing have been reduced to approximately 1 out of every million discharges. This weapon can be tied into the armor targeting systems.
  • XP-L01–Plasma Flamethrower [2-handed, 3 slot] – Instead of a concentrated burst, this flamethrower instead speads the plasma into a cone for about 5 meters in front of it. Safer to use on ships for it lacks the power to burn through metal, it can rapidly heat metal, turning armor suits into super-hot coffins. The ammunition pack for this weapon carries enough for approximately 10 minutes of usage.
  • XP-G03-Plasma Grenade [.5-slot] – A high-temperature grenade, this has the standard set of timers on it. When detonates, it creates a 10 meter in diameter plasma burst, capable of destroying metals. One of the most powerful grenades in existence. Can be triggered manually, timer, or through the cybernetic interface.

Weapons – Random
  • Vibro-sword [1-handed, 2-slot]– A standard melee weapon that is 1 meter in length, this sword contains along its edges a rapidly moving series of micro-blades, allowing it to rapidly cut through light armor and flesh. Against heavier metals the sword can jam, rendering the vibration aspect of it damaged. However even without power it is still lethal to those on the other end.
  • Shock Baton [1-handed, 1-slot]– A retractable baton that can be extended to two feet in length, that carries a electrical charge that upon contact causes extreme pain and typically knocks the target unconscious. Sustained contact will eventually kill most people in a short amount of time. This weapon can be attached to a gauntlet and extended via cybernetic control.
  • Vibro-Claw [1-handed, 1-slot] – Attached to a gauntlet, this device extends a 1 foot long vibro-blade, specially refined to cut through the heaviest of metals. Only usable when attached to a gauntlet.
  • Chainsaw [1-handed, 2-slot] – A device used to cut through various materials. Found strangely enough on all ships. [NOT SELECTABLE AT BEGINNING OF THREAD!]

Equipment
  • First Aid Kit [1-slot] – An advance medical kit, containing 2 units of spare plasma, basic medical scanner, bandages, quick-set casts, enough tools to stop a severed limb from bleeding out, defilberator, and a wide assortment of drugs and stimulates.
  • Field Repair Kit [1-slot] – A kit that contains collapsed metal armor slices, welding torch, basic electrical tools, backup circuits to key armor systems.
  • Ammunition Clip [.25 slot] – Spare ammunition for weapon of choice.
  • Field Rations [.25 slot] – Something to eat while fighting. Also contains a unit of drink.
  • Personal Digital Assistance [Standard] – A basic computer unit that is tied into the armor. On the underside of the left gauntlet it contains a detachable unit that can be tied via cables into other computers and security terminals. The basic unit can bypass most low-level security systems easily, but more complicated systems require other methods. In addition it can download information from terminals for storage and viewing upon the armor HUD.

New weapon only for Fluffue:

Fluffies crappy shouler laser - It sits on a shoulder, it spins, it shoots a laser beam or it explodes depending on the DM. What else do you want.

Meh, to bad that you have the ego the size of the Death Star but the thickness and consistency of a balloon.

You wanted Doom, you got it, but don't bitch to me if it dosen't have everything you want.

And BTW, the shoulder stuff was coming up later, very soon in fact, but since you are making a little hissy-fit and crying to yourself and saying you won't join, I guess you won't see it.

Good idea. Most of that will depend on your character description that you write up there.

when do the ''Doom'' rpg start.. what ''race'' are involved.. i m thinking of a character i may want to try within the setting. but a more detail environment is needed..

Having joined the UAC Marine Corps shortly after finishing university Richard spent the first years of his service in the engineers before being transferred to special operations. Rather used to equipment being in a less than operable state on receiving it no weapon he was issued with went longer than a few hours without being stripped down and reassembled - often with a few minor adjustments. During one overly prolonged engagement he was spotted behind a crate repairing a discarded Independent weapon after his jammed, and soon rejoined the battle behind a hail of lead. While this gave him an appreciation of their more durable weaponry he also took to carrying his tool kit around with him stocked up with parts to keep his own gun running smoothly.

Okay. Doom is similar to the computer game. You start off as a normal human, there are no "known" aliens in this RPG. The humans are at war with each other, two main factions with several smaller factions. You are part of the Marine core of the UAC, a small faction that allied themselves with the Alliance.

I'm very flexible when it comes to characters, as long as they don't break obvious rules (no aliens, no mystical powers, etc etc) I let you do things.

As far as your character knows, right now they are about to go on a search and rescue of a lost ship.......

Lieutenant Richard armstrong was one of the researcher in the U A C, but sent by the terran intelligence corp (covert agent) assign to the development of new personal armor, armor that would provide soldiers and agent a better way to pernetrate ennemy line..
working for 2 years on design and new material.. the team discovored a new composite derived of plastic/titanium fusion, that was highly resistant to bullets and projectile. but if submit to highly focused laser beam, would melt partly. the team then started to manufactured a suit which would look like any other , but actually was quite different.
replacing the fuel of the jet pactk with highly concentrate hydrogen cell, they covered the armor with reflective plating which would use the surrounding light to mimic the surounding rendering the person almost invisible.. though the use of the micking ability use alot of the pack energy. to further provide stealth to the soldier, the light were replace by infrared sensor, allowing the person to move in total darkness and to detect unobstruct heat source.(treat laser attack as lightly armored and projectile attack as heavy armor)
once the armor was finished and tested.. he simply took it and return to his pick up ship, stealing the prototype and destroying all data. next in his mind was an upgrade to the p d a for a better computer interface and hacking ability.. though it s not finish..

later on , he was assign to a group of soldier, on an infiltation mission, with a team of special force. thing went smoothly till they stumble on the computer room. there while they were trying to retrieve data on ennemy force and ships, they got found and attack... 3 of his men got killed, 1 other taking a laser shot to his arm, and himself escaping barely with the use of his mimic armor , though he saw an unexpected problem, his cloaking field would only last 6 min, before dissipating... but that would have to do till he could find a longer lasting power source. now , returning to earth (till mission change) with the data retrieved.

Kaeletin having been signed on to fight at the age of 18 was an adrenaline run crazy man. Well not so much crazy as near suicidal in most cases. After training he moved on to his first squad. His natural affinity with weapons of mass distruction earned him the oh so cliched name "Havoc", he doesn't like it to be used. If it comes to fight he will try to use his Shock Baton, though his heart is always with the Browncoat. As a child he was not much one to excell in schooling. During his earlier operations he took a bullet in the side leaving him with a nasty scar. It doesn't impede him as he got fixed up right away, it still tends to make him a bit more cautious then he used to be. He is currently 29 having served, his rank is fairly low to him not really being fit for Commisioned serivce. Just fine with him.

{ooc}I'd like to join this, is it possible to be a medic-type character, with advanced medikit for more severe wounds and to keep people fighting fit, in exchange for weapons slots and a reduced combat capability? If not I'll just create a more standard marine type character.

Personal History:
Michael Graymalkin graduated with first class honours from the O’Malley Medical University and was immediately accepted into a prestigious surgical training program with some of the Alliance’s best surgeons. While he was a part of some of the most complicated medical work performed in this age, a lack of self-confidence and a failure to put himself out there meant that Michael was often overlooked for promotion and never achieved his full potential. However the situation changed when Michael’s brother Eric, a xenobiology research officer with the Alliance was on board a vessel that intended deep space travel for the advancement of science. The vessel was one of those lost due to what is believed to be an Independent hijacking. Michael quit his job and joined the UAC, and found during military training that he was a fair shot, and had above-average skills with a blade. He now uses his medical knowledge to keep members of the special-ops team alive while on their missions, hoping to find some news of his brother amongst the wreckage of the war.

Extended Shock Absorption Unit (2 slots)
-These heavier shock absorbers enhance the combat suit limbs to be able to absorb impact due to acrobatic feats (duck and roll) and to some degree aids recovery from blunt blows or being sent flying across the room. The units in the legs serve to also absorb some sound made from walking and running across a variety of surfaces (minus liquid and creaky stuff). Due to the power consumption necessary to powre these units, an additional power supply is required to service the arms, and another seperate one to service the legs and power the absorbers (2 slots taken up)

History:

Once an advance scout of the main UAC military, Rob preferred the more subtle ways of taking out the enemy. His frame does not boast off much strength, but what he lacks in muscle, he makes up for in cunning and agility. Preferring to live by the philosophy of "Never let them see you coming", Rob prefers to hide in the shadows and make his way to the rear of the enemy, striking them down quickly with his blades one after another.

Years of practice with wooden sticks and eventually training swords has enabled Rob to become very proficient with ambidexterity. He is able to use one sword in each hand simultaneously with deadly ability. his practice in this field has been augmented by a year on the battlefield as one of the reconnaissance scouts of the UAC.

Rob is weakened by open battlefields, as little cover means that trying to engage in melee combat without being shot down first is at best chanced at little to none. In open fields, he usually resorts to his plasma rifle, but his aim is mediocre at best. Rob had never shot a firearm outside of the military, and still prefers not to whenever possible. His aim does not allow him to be much use on the front line, but serves better to be sending out sporadic blasts of support fire in the general vacinity of the enemy.

Originally, Rob was drafted into the special ops squad under contract for a short time. He was given some prototype weaponry and sent out to gain some intel on a pocket of resistance hiding out in a remote sector of the city. Upon returning, he dropped a series of pistols and rifles on the ground in front of his contractor. The officre asked where he got all the weaponry from, to which Rob replied "I figured that the 7 resistance who now lie dead had no need of them. The sector is clean." He has been with the SO squad ever since, performing both brutal executions and scouting missions alike for the military.

Rob has always been fairly quiet to talk to... He prefers solitude rather than people-filled rooms, and rarely ever talks unless he is required to do so. the years he spent along both at home and in the military have inhibited his social skills... anbd people may find him blunt and somewhat hostile to talk to.

His strength with swords is countered by his lack of skill with firearms.

      • Extended Shock Absorption Unit -These heavier shock absorbers enhance the combat suit limbs to be able to absorb impact due to acrobatic feats (duck and roll) and to some degree aids recovery from blunt blows or being sent flying across the room. The units in the legs serve to also absorb some sound made from walking and running across a variety of surfaces (minus liquid and creaky stuff). Due to the power consumption necessary to power these units, an additional power supply is required to service the arms, and another separate one to service the legs and power the absorbers.

And now, the DM…

Master Pilot Jenkins swore as the Pelican Mk V dropship shuddered from the electrostatic discharge that rippled through the nebula. He hated nebula flying, for it gummed up the sensors something fierce, was bumpy and he couldn’t see shit out the viewports. The holographic heads up displays showed mostly static, and the only way he knew they were moving was that the beacon signal that they were following was getting stronger.

“How we doing on fuel supply there Joe?”

Joe looked over at Jenkins, sweat running from under his helmet. He typed in a few commands on his console and nodded.

“We are still good, we are burning a little hotter than normal, but we are still in the green.”

“Good, let me know if we hit the red there, for we will turn around and go back to base. How are our passengers?”

By passengers, Jenkins referred to the 12 UAC Marines in the passenger hold (you guys). Common procedure kept the two groups separate except for the lieutenant, who apparently was brand new to the rest of the Marines, and didn’t like nebula flying.

“Everyone but the Lieutenant there is fine. He is in the head emptying his stomach again.”

Chuckling to himself, Jenkins grabbed a syth-chocolate bar from a MRE he opened up earlier and ate it. Granted he hated nebula flying, for you never knew where a Independent ship was hiding in one, but it made him hungry as hell.

“HOLY!!! Metallic reading, 500 meters port, closing fast!”

Nearly spitting out the mouthful of horrible tasting syth-chocolate, Jenkins yanked the yoke hard. The swirling gasses and rippling electrical current gyrated violently, but then he saw a shadow. Easing up on the throttle, he flipped a switch, activating the high-power landing lights. While they didn’t do much to punch through the nebula gases, a glimpse of the bow of a ship could be seen. Looking down at the sensor readouts, Jenkins nodded as the beacon signal was at its strongest point ever.

“Looks like we hit paydirt here. Inform the lieutenant that we made contact. I’m going to make a standard pass.”

Before Joe could get up, the door to the cockpit opened and Lieutenant Incom Morgan stepped through, looking a little green.

“Why did we stop?”

“Sir, we found a ship. If you give me a minute….”

Gently tapping the maneuvering thrusters, Jenkins moved the dropship along the hull. For the moment he saw no damage, nothing out of the ordinary, except for the lack of running lights, or any lights from the viewports he noticed. Finally he found what he was looking for, written in bright red letters along the side of the ship: Deimos – XE-023T.

“Confirmed sir, this is the Deimos. Joe, and readings from her?”

“Been trying, we are in a dense section of the nebula. I’m however not picking up any power readings, which at this range means her main reactors, are in complete cold-shutdown. That’s all I can say.”

“Alright, plan B. With the Lieutenant’s permission I will conduct a visual survey of the derelict before we attempt a docking. The armor on the Marines suits won’t stop the radiation generated by this nebula.”

“What… oh, go right ahead.”

Shaking his head slightly, Jenkins moved the Pelican with a series of light thruster commands. Joe meanwhile activated a holographical schematic of the Deimos that floated between the two of them. Nearly a kilometer in length from bow to stern and 500 meters at her widest, she looked to have been a modified Arthas cruiser, except for several strange antenna’s that stuck out from her. Sections that they visually scanned changed from a wireframe red to blue, which would be used to determine where to dock.

“Holy, would you look at THAT!”

Looking at where the Lieutenant was pointing, Jenkins whistled to himself. Along the upper port engine was a large gash in the hull, nearly 100 meters in length. The hull around the gash are burnt and scarred with carbon scoring. Around the gash floating debris still, spinning widly, and when Jenkins looked into the gash, he could clearly see down several decks.

“Damn, looks like a plasma line ruptured. That entire section was taken out, no wonder she is in shutdown, they probably were trying to keep that explosion from happening.”

“But what caused it, YIKES!”

With a bang, something struck the viewport. Jenkins saw the flash of a bloated face with missing eyes before the corpse slid off the viewport and tumbled away into oblivion.

“Holy hell,” exclaimed Incom, clenching the back of Jenkins chain.

“Well, we can scratch that section off from docking. Whoa….”

Ducking to the underside of the Deimos was another large gash in the ship. This one, obviously from an internal explosion was next to one of the strange antenna’s, and it was leaking some kind of liquid. Nearby two wrecked fighters spun around. Thrusting the Pelican up, Jenkins watched as the hanger bay came into view, which was where dropships and other large craft were launched and returned, along with the fighters. The hanger doors were barely closed, but where bulged outwards, with the gap charred and blackened. Checking the schematic of the ship versus what he saw, Jenkins sighed.

“Sir, I don’t want to attempt a landing in that hanger bay.”

“Why not?”

“First of all, I would have to blast open the doors. Second I don’t know what’s it’s like inside the bay itself. Finally I think we need to avoid any explosions. I suggest that we swing back to the front, that looked relatively intact, and offload the Marines there. We will continue to fly recon of the ship until you can determine the status of the hanger bay, and we will go from there.”

“You think the interior would be safe?”

“Sir, I don’t know, but most of the damage seems to be towards the aft end of the ship. The main C&C center and computer control are in the forward section. According to our schematics, there is an auxiliary reactor located in the fore as well, you might be able to restore power.”

“Okay, get us into position for soft-seal. I’ll get the Marines ready.”

Lieutenant Incom Morgan stepped out of the cockpit, and looked at the Marines. Some were sleeping lightly, others were working on their PDA’s or equipment. Seeing him enter, many of them kept doing what they were, not unexpected. Their old Lieutenant had been injured in their last action, along with their Master Sergeant, and with Incom being the only Lieutenant onboard that was not injured and had Marine experience (1 mission, and the Marines called it a “milk run”) he was slated for the mission.

“Marines, attention!”

A few of the Marines looked up at him, not getting up. Waiting a few seconds, Incom sighed to himself.

“We found the Deimos. She is intact, so we are going to do a soft-seal boarding at her front airlock. You are going to head in and secure the main C&C center, computer control and auxiliary fusion reactor. Yes you don’t think highly of me and I don’t know of you or how you work, so this is the deal. Split yourselves into three equal squads and split up upon boarding and secure those three sections.”

Watching as some of the Marines talked among themselves, Incom kept going.

“Reactor team will secure the reactor. If it’s intact they will initiate a power-up sequence. Computer control will secure the ship’s black box and any records relating to it’s mission and secure them. C&C team will check the ship’s systems and aid the other two teams.”

The Pelican then shook slightly, and back at the airlock, a green light activated.

”Marines, this is your Pilot. We have docked at the Deimos. We have soft seal engaged, however we are unable to confirm atmosphere on the other side. Stay suited at all times there, the damage to the outer hull is significant, especially towards the aft end. Good luck.”

“Well Marines, that’s my cue to exit. I’ll join you once the three objectives have been secured. Good luck.”

Walking up towards the cockpit, Incom sealed the passenger compartment. That way they could decompress the passenger compartment and allow the Marines easy egress of the Pelican. Taking his station, which was a series of monitors connected to the remote armor camera on the Marines, along with their vitals, he saw what they saw.

Objectives
  • Form into three even squads (there are 12 Marines, you guys and NPC’s that I control. You can ask NPC’s to join you in a squad.
  • Exit the ship. You will be exiting at the forward maintenance airlock, used for ship repairs and emergency docking. This leads to a cargo bay that is tied into one the main corridors that will take you to your objectives.

Adam cursed and sputtered speaking out of comms as they flew through space. He never muhc cared for ship to ship combat, always seemed an unncesary risk. He could of sworn he heard them say...The Deimos. They seemed either surprised or worried, but over the noise he could hardly hear it. He turned back to his PDA and flipped through some of his mail. A coupel of personal mail sat on there but he flipped past them going through to another read out of his mission. He clicked it off before stowing it away and checked his weapon for jams. Clicking the weapon free of jams he grinned. They were receiving orders.

The comms crackled to life as Morgan stepped into the room. He gave a half hearted salute and then turned back to fiddling with his weapon. he listened to the orders without looking at Morgan, as he left them he sighed. "Well, I can take any mission. Wherever I can help" He said with a sort of half nod. He clicked his chaingun's safety off and slung it over his shoulder.

Rob heard every word. Despite the look of sleeping he gave off, Rob was more or less aware of what his comrades were doing, and even noted with a smile that the pilot noticed that he wasn't getting a great deal of respect from the rest.

Looking over with interest at the sound of a gun being fiddled with, Rob gripped the hilt of one of his swords, affectionately nicknamed "Blaze" due to some antics involving a cut gas line and a shot of plasma; The flaming husks that remained were just a bonus.

Looking over the marines, he noted that many of them seemed to be a fan of the various types of pistols... While deadly enough, they were rarely ever useful against harder armored foes.

A voice caught his ear, and Rob turned to see a younger man, carefully checking his chaingun and smiling as he found it fault-free.

"Well, I can take any mission. Wherever I can help"

Smiling slightly, Rob looked at the others, noting that few of them seemed to be in any hurry to move. Flicking his sword strangely over his wrist and into his waiting palm, Rob looks directly ahead at the only one who visibly went old school.

"That shotgun looks like an antique Grave... You any good with it?" Last guy I saw trying to use that thing managed to pepper an entire room and miss the biggest target in it. Me. "

Noting the brief silence that followed, Rob turned to look again at the man standing up fondly holding his chaingun.

"You're Tinan, aye? a specialist like me... What's your talent?"

Rob flicked Blaze back into it's slot, and started to run his hands up and down the lower part of his ankle and shin, checking his aborbers to make sure they were functioning while awaiting a response.

as he was waiting to replies from the men and he lieutenant, Armstrong switch his face plate to infrared vision, hooking it to his infrared scanners on his shoulders. Looking at ppls from his face plate , seeing each marines and their gear as different degre of heat and cold.
Then he looked at his power interface.. making sure his cloaking field was still powered, turning it on and off for 5 second. Satisfied that all was in order.. he took up his laser rifle and hook it to his armor computer, getting ready to move on.

note to Bakan

Since the highest rank in our team is (as yet) a Captain.. maybe you should make incom morgan a Major?!
so it would make more sense as he s the commanding officer for what i see.
