British spys, Russia, and an electric rock
This takes the biscuit.
Whether it's true or not, the thought of James Bond sidling up to one of those fake polystyrene rocks from the original Star Trek and nonchalantly trying to sync his palm pilot is one unlikely image.

Only incompetent British people would use a rock. Don't they know that the latest rage is dead Arabs?

Re: British spys, Russia, and an electric rock
i was listening to the Jeremy Vine show today (radio two ftw!) and there was an ex-KGB colonel on it. He said that they guy who picked up the rock urinated on the street so couldn't possibly have been a british agent :raised eyebrow:
anyway, he also mentioned that while there are 2 british offices in Moscow, there are 34 Russian intelligence offices in London, which seemed a bit excessive.

WE DIDN'T KILL THE WHALE
I think it seems to be pushing things a bit far. I can see a bit of friction in the near future though

Re: British spys, Russia, and an electric rock
surely itd be more covert to selotape something to the underside of a bench or bin than it would be to put a small rock in a park and hope noone sees you
bending over
picking up a giant rock
turning it upside down
tapping away at the base
sticking something in it
removing something from it
turning rock back over
putting rock back down
walking away whistling trying not to look too suspicous

Re: British spys, Russia, and an electric rock
I just thought of something, and I really can't believe none of you have either, so:
In Soviet Russia, rock spys you!

Yeah, but paper beats rock, as we all know, so the old methods are better.
