How to prove ship farming ?

let's say player A has a mate (player B) who picks a small target at random (a freebie) and attack it with the ships player A wants, Player A sends def to the same planet, and farm his friend's ships. Can you catch them, can you prove they were friends and that they did it on purpose ?

To answer your question - yes it can be spotted. There are basically two javascript's running which can spot "intention" and "purpose" in human activities with a certainty of 87% and for rd14 i heard there is a new script beeing planned which adds your subconscious into the calculation.

Why is everybody trying to get public approval about their cheating fantasies nowadays - sheesh.

Re: How to prove ship farming ?

imho they cant prove farming easierly and certainly not on a single event. It would require many events of it happening and even then it would have to hope that there was no obvious alliance or galaxy links that would mask the fact its farming

They arent trying to get public approval, I would say they are simply trying to prove that this new exception system hinders legitimate players and doesnt do anything to counter people cheating. It doesnt help catch people doing cheating like this and only helps catch the 'stupid' cheaters whom they should have no trouble catching anyway

Re: How to prove ship farming ?

The same 'stupid' cheaters that either get closed or login on the weekends and end up on half a million score anyway. And if it keeps them happy, and willing to play when they'd otherwise quit, it might not be such a bad thing. Big players, attempting to fool the farming mh system tend to get a lot of attention and end up being checked on regularly.

Small numerous players attempting to cheat aren't ruining the game, and there's not a chance in hell limiting their actions should take precident over the enjoyment of the vaste number of active players who play with friends who use the same networks as them. That said, I use my own cable connection and haven't shared it with anyone from PA during a round since round Five.

This isn't just a hardcoding of what was already in place (Xontas). Name a single player that got closed in r13 for Covert Oping the same galaxy, Defending the same galaxy or Attacking the same galaxy that an exception friend was in. Or scanning, if that's what it means by Waves.

Let's just hope some bright spark didn't hardcode that you can't defend you're own galaxy more than a couple times a week if you've an exception player in it

Re: How to prove ship farming ?

are you realy saying that i should let small cheating be alowed :/
cheating is cheating

small-big, often or ones
who cares

if you cheat you should get closed
now, about proving cheating its rare that i can prove cheating from one event
finding someone logging in in canada and 10 min later in london usualy gets my attention tho.....

fleetfarming

attacking someone to steal there ships is a valid tactic and alowed in this game
attacking someone that has said, ok take them and is not defending. thats farming

yes its hard to prove but for you to realy gain from shipfarming you have to do it lots of times
and that gives us enough proof to take action (along with some other things i am not gonna teach you guys)

Re: How to prove ship farming ?

that's totally acceptable and it's brilliant that MH is getting involved and designing great new ways to ensure cheating is minimised.

unless these great new systems make the game significantly less playable for all the players that SHOULD and DO matter a lot more.

not that it matters because it can't be stopped, it comes with stealing no matter what, but it doesn't matter how many times farming players try it. you only need to send one attack to lose your whole fleet once mid-round right?
