Same Again
This is a question to the PA team really, why dont you bring back missions, everyone thinks its a good idea, we come up with loads and loads of good ideas.

So can you answer WHY we dont bring them back istead of me searching the 1000 posts suggesting good ideas to promote IRC activity and increase the playerbase??

we all think its a good idea wehy dont you

could we have a quest competition ? ask the players to submit a list of 5 to 10 quests. I'm sure there's a lot of good ideas around.

I like this idea quite a bit.

In all honesty, we (the players) can sort out the "best" quests for newbies to learn from...point them in the right direction, and whatnot.

(Come on, "Build a construction" isn't a valuable quest...)

Quests are in theory a good feature but lets be honest they were a little weak in the method they were implemented in the past. It was little more than getting people to follow simple instructions to carry out the very basic tasks in exchange for rewards without really teaching them anything.

If there's going to be quests they should be done in a way that requires people to really learn a game useful skill in a challenging and more fun manner

mabbe instead of attacking 1:1 for golden roids make then prizes for quests ? on a random basis ?

problem with it would be lower ETA fleets getting to quest target before higher ETA ones. poor terrs...

That could be solved by having some magic anti-whatever fleets at target location. I.e. some quests could be more worthwhile for a cr or bs fleet being solved because fleet at the target location is weak against it, while on some other target locations fleet is weak against fi / co.
