Big Brother
Ok now i normally avoid the thing like the plague ...
but i'm currently starting later at work and theres nothing on tv.
I find myself facinated by dirk benedict (the A-team one)
Now from when he went in .. with cigar and hollywood smile, hes grown into what can only be described as a normal human being, which amazes me.
Hes not at all what i expected, hes passionate about food, knowledgable about the world, and has a natural charisma, his character is simply an older version of the characters he was playing as a younger man, he was playing himself.
He brings people into his conversations, asks the others their opinions and listens, and from what i have seen doesnt deride them for having those opinions.
This guys a thoroughly nice bloke.
so .. are u watching it .. has anyone surprised you ?

Re: Big Brother
I know it'll shock most GD "Regulars", but I've honestly only seen about 30 minutes of it in total, and that's when I was channel hopping and stumbled across it Live.
I like watching normal Big Brother. I like Celebrity Big Brother if I think any of the celebrities are vaguely famous. None of these are though

Re: Big Brother
I've been watching a little on the box during study leave, plus there is alot in the news. I cant see why the news is calling racist abuse against shilpa when the housemates only called her a dog. Fair enough Jackie called her the 'Indian' on a few occasions but bless the poor woman wasn't being derogative but she simply couldn't say shilpa.

Re: Big Brother

Re: Big Brother
The few clips I saw on newsnight didn't seem very racist, just ignorant.

Danielle said that she wished shilpa went back home.. but in the conext of the whole eviction staying thing.. i think its more ignorance aswell.
Carphone Warehouse has just pulled their sponsorship of BB. lol
I think the whole situation is stupid and that there is nothing wrong with racist issues in the house.

I hope this signifies the decline/crash of that godawful show.
The first 2 were fairly interesting, as was the 3rd to some extent, but then they started bringing in people who they thought would fight, argue, have sex and would just be really weird for TV ratings, I hated it.

I don't remember much of what I liked about the first one, but it was probably the hilarious antics of the contestants.
In the 2nd one, they had fairly normal contestants (they didn't go out of their way to bring in people who barely speak English, people who wouldn't gel together etc.) and they were hilarious - I loved the antics of Brian (despite being 11 years old at the time and, understandably, fairly homophobic) and Bubble as well as some of the other housemates.

Re: Big Brother
Oh my god I reall hate Jade Goody, so much. I was just watching BBC News headlines and a silent CBB clip of her mouthing off made me want to commit mass murder. And that's without the sound of her voice.
