Re: ho ho ho.
"Veritas" may be Latin for "truth" but it's also Latin for "frightened women".

Re: ho ho ho.
UKIP thought they were on to a winner by hiring someone the public could actually recognise!
Oh yeah.
Unfortunately, they forgot that famous people have big egos, and generally want to take charge of things.

Mr Houston needs to get elected. Shake things up in the European Parliament. Hes got views that make even Bonkers Boris look positively middle of the road.

Re: ho ho ho.
it was always going to happen, when will the UK realise that its future lies with the EC, wether it wants it too or not, because as soon as it does, the UKIP and all of that lot will finally fade into insignificance
(although i must admit i personally would be a lot happier being part of europe if it wasn't so bloody corrupt)

Re: ho ho ho.
This'll probably benefit the europhiles, as I can't see this creating two large eurosceptic parties; Just one fragmented one. Plus, this reinforces the opinion that UKIP and such are a bit bonkers.

This is oh so right, actually I am in a little 'online gaming group' which calls itself 'the BigEgos' and whereever we go into what 'guild' 'alliance' or whatever, we seem to take control.
Not that anyone cares tho.
Oh and in general. those 'publicity pullers' are as mentally stable as Micheal Jackson.

Re: ho ho ho.
Woman gets married. Double-barrelled name. Couple has kids with double barrelled names. Hardly genius level stuff.

hyphenated second names are usually called double barreled in England.
traditionally they arise when the last descendant of a family is female, by marrying the family name might be lost, so her family name is added to that of her new husbands. their children then use this double barrled name.
i don't understand why you feel this should be a solely female practice.
P.S. my favourite example of multiple barreled surnames comes from a judge in days past who's surname was Hovel-Thurlow-Cumming-Bruce, when he became a judge he decided to drop two of his surnames... needless to say he kept Cumming-Bruce

Re: ho ho ho.
My mum's name will die out, and as it's my 2nd middle name I've thought about hypenating it with my surname.

They're quite common in the aristocracy. Lord Minto is an Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound, Lady Willoughby de Eresby a Heathcote-Drummond-Willoughby, Lord Acton a Lyon-Dalberg-Acton, Lord Temple of Stowe a Temple-Gore-Langton, and Lord Derwent a Vanden-Bempdé-Johnstone, amongst others. Lord Lansdowne was until recently a Mercer Nairne Petty-FitzMaurice, and the Dukes of Buckingham and Chandos in the 19th century were Temple-Nugent-Brydges-Chandos-Grenvilles.
