Life could be worse.
Life could be better.

Life could always be worse.

I think, on balance, if my penis was going to be cut of, I'd prefer to be asleep during the experience.
But life could always be worse. Dwelling excessively on what you don't have is a sure path to misery.

Re: Which statement best describes you?
Life is great.
(Obviously, both original statements are always true, so I'm not going to waste time trying to pick one.)

Re: Which statement best describes you?
I don't think that saying 'life could be better' is necessary negative or focused on what you don't have in a bad way. I don't think ambition is a bad thing and I think seeing that there's room for improvement in your life can be a positive motivator. I always have thought, that it could always be worse, but then a few days ago I saw someone had stenciled this statement on the concrete by a bus stop. The people sitting at this bus stop always look dishevled, sad, and gloomy and I kind of laughed to myself at the thought of picturing them reading that. Recently though I thought of the reverse, and that if people believed that 'things could be better' then maybe they would get off their ass and improve their lot instead of being such fatalistic defeatists.

Life could be worse, but it should be better.
Not a negative thing, just something to aim for

The worst attitude is a good attitude.
Good attitudes lead to disappointment etc.

im curious as to which is the 'optimist' choice here.
because whilst my life is pretty ace it could indeed be better and therefore its something to aim at?
whereas someone who says 'life could be worse' has accepted their current state and resigned themselves to it?

Yes, that's why I asked the question, it's not a glass is 'half-full' or 'half-empty' sort of thing. It's interesting I think.
