Virus shaping up?
Virus was a semi-superpower from r6 to r8 before most of their good members left and made way for the internal revolution they had in round 9.5.
Many of the members in MadCows r8\9 cam from r6-8 virus, and made MadCows what they were in r8-9.
Now quite some MadCows are disbanding their alliance, and joining in the ranks of Virus.
Virus recruit a sizeable amount of members during ruond 9.5, and are now nearing the capability they had in previous rounds.
Will Virus be one of the contenders for dominating round 10,playing a part in shaping the politcs or will they get yet another setback?

I come back form the woods and see this.
I thought I saw some pretty stupid and uninformed tree planters who had about as much of a hard time planting trees as you do with your logistics in your statements.
wonder which tit owns this account? /me looks in general european way ..(althought i could be wrong)
(I'm just speaking from the material relateing to madcows if anyone cared).

No offence, but if virus will be like it was in r9, then it is not any good, as i can remember that bc in my galaxy never got any def fleets. Even HC in other galaxies were without defence. But if you manage to make virus working, then good luck.

Well.. best of luck to ViruS, but please.. MadCows where never that good in r8-9.. Not because they didn't have decent players (and some really nice people) though, but because they had a complete lack of disiplin and team spirit omho..

I've had quite some experience with ViruS, for example when galm8s or RYB members were members of ViruS. I remember tho, that if the incoming was like eta 6 or eta5 (in r8) a BC from ViruS told me that I was too late and that I should have notified them earlier, basicly letting their members die.
A few times I got quite angry at them and sometimes it worked sometimes it didn't.
<offtopic>
I still haven't seen any alliance ever perform as well on the defend front as titans r8. It didn't matter what the ETA was or how many ppl where ganging up on me, they always defended.
Or tried atleast :-)

A lot of things change in 2 rounds...... that sort of thing doesn't happen anymore, especially since we have such a good defence team now.
The ViruS R7 defence team was very good as well, not many ppl got through on us that round....

Typical that you rate an alliance by how much def it sends to its command staff.

If you remember correctly we had 70-80% of the universe against us..... not really that easy to defend against that sort of overkilling.
We have got rid of the aspects that were holding us back, and we will be a lot stronger this round.

At one point ViruS were considered the best alliance defence wise. Think that was around R6/7 time.

I ran the Infection defence during the morning/afternoon, ofc you would agree :P (I aint blowing my own trumpet here, I did my bit willingly and there were a lot more ppl other than myself and Isil who did as much and more to contribute)
Scouse, I heard a lot of ppl commenting about it, not just ViruS members :P and before you ask me to name people I dont have logs that far back, but I do remember some Fury and WP members saying something along those lines

I wouldn't expect you to name them, but I don't remember hearing that. Virus did do better in round 7 than other rounds. And ofc in round 6, you were too busy getting the sh*t knocked out of you with the rest of us in FLTTV to be anything worth remembering.

Scouse, I had only just joined ViruS in round 6, and my gal and I didn't do THAT badly (considering I was a semi-n00b at the time), I didn't really have much of a clue to do with the rest of the universe until Irvine promoted me to Infection LT at the start of R7.

Cant have been in r6 anyways, I remember the defence back the(I was virus at the time) it was poor but well FLTTV had it very hard back then. And for r7, the virus members was the only once to lose roids in my gal back then. All legion and titans members was covered by their alliances. We covered most of the virus dudes in gal tho.

Recruiting members during R9.5 is likely to consist of mostly people returning to the game because its free, unlikely most of these will stick around and now pay a tenner to do so.
Oh and the capability for what in previous rounds? Producing amusing, idiotic AD spammers?

Considering Virus where one of the 'top alliances' it wasn't that good. My galaxy had 2 Virus members, everytime we got hit it was extremely difficult to find an active BC and the only time they were ever properly covered, without defence being sent in gal was when they were online to do their own defences.

I worked the day shift for the first 70% of the round, and it was NOT many times a day, if any that there was defcalls that went uncovered.
The only time i could not cover all, was when i was told of the attack on 7:13 at eta 6.

1) I forgot about that
2) Bastards!
3) See above.
4) That would imply I 'know stuff' - which I don't

By their ability to cause damage to their enemies while minimizing damage to their own assets.

Round 6:
ViruS pretty much shut up shop attack wise after about 2 weeks of fighting. It got the the stage where Fury/Legion and Titans were claiming about 95% of the FLVTT targets. The ones you claimed you rarely launched on. Defensively I'm not sure how you performed but judging by how hard it was to find a ViruS BC alive #wc it wasn't that good.
Round 7:
I seem to remember Fury having to bail ViruS on several occasions when Singularity was hit and you didn't have enough ships to cover it. Also I seem to remember Fury basically saving 7:13 mid round when you ran out of ships.

Dunno about the claiming of targets, but i know when hc gave me a target to arrange an attack on it got hit.
Remember a lot of the virus members launched with their gals, if the gc of their gal was legion then they would be attacking a 'legion claimed target', same thing for fury.

you beat me to it We had some of the highest ranked virus players and we always had to defend them using other resources besides virus.

you weren't around in round 6, along with most of the other HC. There were maybe 4 of us that tried to run things back then and it didn't run well because we had little/no support from higher up and the maturity level of the memberbase was somewhere approaching the 3rd grade level.
