Which part of the round do you enjoy most?

Been thinking today about which part of the previous rounds I have enjoyed most and I just wondered what you lot thought..

I used to enjoy the start of a round, just after tickstart & shuffle when everyone was doing their damnest to get as much intel as possible on their cluster using fake nicks etc.. but in the last few rounds, I've been a little bored with the start of the round, just wanting to get into the stages where everyone has substantial fleets and the wars are in full effect (I find that the first week or so tends to drag, waiting for res/cons to finish and not much action)

IMO, the key parts of the round are:

• Pre-tickstart - when everyone is organising galaxies, signing-up and waiting for stats and alliance/block info.
• Tickstart/shuffle - see above
• Mid-round - wars begin in earnest, differences in score and roids now show more in the universe top 100/250 lists
• Final weeks - many people have quit, wars usually considered won by this point.

Like someone said, I enjoy playing the game, all the time.

(but the first 3-4 weeks are a tad more fun than the rest)

the first n00b of the season, and 1 week before havock round sets in, thats when you can really start to launch on your GC and fellow ministers

It really depends. r1 r2 and r8 it would have had to be the start of the round. In a fully random universe you cant beat the early in galaxy politics. However in a Private Universe its probally the middle of the round when everything is at its peak, here you gave got over the obvious slowness of the beginning and you ahve yet to have a universe thats stagnated leaving a great balance

The start (Because anything seems possible to anyone). And the game is fresh, so you arn't tired and have a decent will to succeed.

Either that or the 'tagging' or point in the game where you realise you're alliance or side has 'won'.

I enjoy the game the most around tick 150 - 500 (Probably because thats the times I've been highest ranked)

I like the sensless destroying of n00bs planets

i enjoy the first couple of weeks just after protection. thats when you can still attack just about anyone and everyone in the gal is still excited about playing. irc activity is at its peak and the cluster backstabbing hasnt started up.

early part of r8 was incredibly rocking, same for most of r4..

The best part of the round to me is the middle of the round where your built and starting to launch attackes and completely roiding the hell out of some1 and then comming near the end
but i hate the end, everything just grounds to a halt and all things go pearshaped.

Does anybody think it might be a good idea to not have a start and or finish to a round? i mean i kno that causes problems with planets being large and everything.
But i find that when your trying to settle old debts it doesn't help when the round ends, and the alliances politics have to finish because of the end of the round and everything.
I know ppl wil probably disagree, but its just an idea i wanna discuss

My favourite time in pa is that hour after uve landed ur first scout harpy on ur first attack and ur tryin to decide to stay or pull...
