Population

Firstly, I think the population is great. I've criticised PA heavily, and I think this is a great feature.

One minor suggestion to improve its interface - drop the Government selection to the bottom of the page, and move the BONUSES panel up - then add a little javascript to update the bonuses in real time - like a preview.

This would allow people to work out more accurately what % to use for a particular ETA production or construction, using the sliders.

great suggestion shyne, i reckon that would make the new population feature even better than it already is, because i think most people can admit that population gives more flexibility than the old engineering page making it heaps better. So being able to see eta's and construction time change as you edit your population would be sweeeet

<Munin> Optimal construction worker settings: 1% (-1), 9% (-2), 17% (-3), 26% (-4), 34% (-5). Add your racial bonus to get your total construction time bonus. If your construction worker settings are not one of these percentages, you should apply to join Angels or Wolfpack.


The research one are more varied though. I just checked all mine at the start. No reason something like this shouldn't be implemented though, only the very newest players aren't going to work it out/have someone tell them instantly which puts them at an unnecessary disadvantage.

I think the best way to implement it might actually be a 4th column to the right of 'Max', simply titled 'Preview ETA' for construction / production.

I'll even write the javascript for myk :P

I'll make sure this is taken into account for next round. But no point writing anything now as I expect a lot of the formulae around res/con etc. will be changing in someway.
