Itt...
My mum just found the first tape I ever bought, which cost me approx £1.99 at ASDA at the Metrocentre in Gateshead in approx 1994. I was about 11 years old.
It's...
M.C.SAR & The Real McCoy - Run Away
It's pretty special and I'm listening to it now.
So, cutting past all the bullshit and ego pruning, what was (honestly) the first piece of music you actually purchased for yourself and how old were you?

Re: Itt...
M.C. Hammer - The Addams Groove (7" single) - 1991. I would have been 11/12.
I still have it somewhere.
edit: changed to actual song title

Re: Itt...
I bought a cd the first time myself, I think it must have been in 93 or 94. It was either NWA "Straight Outta Compton" or Snoop's "Doggystyle". I've gotten hooked on hiphop by my mother, who gave me a Public Enemy cd and a Cypress Hill cd. I was like 7-8 years old.
I did not understand half of the lyrics, thought

Re: Itt...
The first CD I ever bought was Now 29 in 1994, I believe. Sad, but true.
Belgy, MC Hammer, and The Addams family were never, frankly, three concepts that I ever thought would share a close association.
