So I just finished playing the Deus Ex 2 demo
The sequel to one of my favourite games of all time.
Massivly dissapoining, its basically a port of the X Box version of the game. The graphics arent nearly as hot as they could be, especially on the weapon skins (look at the state of the stun prod)
The much lauded physics engine just doesnt seem impresive after Max Payne 2, and it certainly isnt used for anything other than gloss (in the demo at least).
The game has been hugely dumbed down:
All the weapons use the same ammo type
You can fit a maximum of 12 things into your inventory (no matter how big or small they are)
The hacking interface is now 100% uninteractive (no turning turrets on their masters)
Multi-tools replace lock-picks (multi-tools hack keypads and pick locks now)
The inventory system is a mess too.
You used to be able to engage every character in the game in conversation, now you can only talk to people you're meant to.
And for some reason the mouse lags terribly, just like any other fps console port

They've simplified it for idiots, it's called widening their target audience.
Look on the bright side at least people like JBOY can play the game now

Someone tell me that Thief III is being designed for the PC, rather than for the XBox and being ported.

I never played the original, but I wasn't really impressed with the demo either. There's about 20 icons on your screen while you play and I've only figured out what like 2 of them mean, and the inventory limit gets annoying fast considering there's TONS of stuff to pick up. Also, when you pick up a pistol when you already have one you'd expect you'd just take the ammo, but no, you pick up the whole weapon, which is utterly useless to you.
