Re: FAO F-Crew
Recruitment is slow this round. It's possibly because of a slightly reduced universe size, or because of the increased alliance limit (with other alliances taking more members) or simply because other alliances that traditionally take new/returning players (ASS, Orbit etc) have been more pro-active in their recruitment.
I'm not unhappy with the size of the memberbase at the moment personally, since it's never been about winning I'm happy just so long as I'm having fun playing and I think we've got a good fun batch of people so far this round.

I took them all out for a drink at the end of last round, I'm sorry to say they still have not recovered.

Re: FAO F-Crew
Where has everyone's members gone. Alot of alliances are down on where you would expect them Including Orbit.
It was inevitable that recruitment would be hard for an awful lot of alliances with the limit increase as it encourages a mass move of members in the community up the levels as the top alliances have plenty of space to add to their community. Everyone else is left to fight over the remaining players that are 'undesirable' to the top alliances and that makes it tough for everyone to recruit

I think that the biggest issue here is the lack of actual new players, most of the players that adds as "new players" is returning players that either goes back to their own alliance or hook up with buddies they've played with before. The amount of players that never have played PA before is very low, and that way the self proclaimed training alliances will struggle.

Do you really believe Juice would share beer or any alcoholic substance with anyone else. If he had said "I took them out for them to buy me drinks and as such they cant afford to play" then it would be alot easier to believe

half the uni allianceless... get recruiting if u want members? i managed to capture 21 ppl in my asc tag pisstake.. simply from people seeing the shuffle gal banners in like 4 gals.. loads of mails about being new players and wanting an ally. Truth be told i think alliances recruitment is just plain ****ing lazyness. A simple topic on this forum and setting the public channel topic to "Recruitment: Open" simply wont cut it.. if you want new players.. go get them.

If you want to accept just anyone then yes its not hard but you don't just want anyone. Any old new player isnt going to stick around and play no matter how much effort you put into them, the players who stay are the ones that show a degree of pro activeness about themselves. An alliance alone cant make the game fun for a player who doesn't want to put any effort in and its just a waste of time and effort recruiting players who cant even be arsed to get online for an interview or even reply to the mail asking them to attend an interview
Additionally to know a player is allianceless you often need to be in a galaxy with them, and at times you simply don't want any more members from the galaxy your members are in as you have too many already

Re: FAO F-Crew
It is never bad to recruit your galmates to your alliance. Assuming they're not idiots, anyway.

No it can be, too many people from the same alliance in the same galaxy causes major problems all round from a defence pov.

Re: FAO F-Crew
When I get new people in my gal and they show up on IRC I always direct them to an alliance I think will suit them best.
Put in a good word for them, help them out, show them what the game is all about...

The nice thing about having a lot of ally members ingal is that as long as you do a good job cross-defending each other, your tag will have that many more good planets in it. On that same coin, however, you have to make sure you can and will do a good job in that aspect.
I realize that any good galaxy will do well in their cross-defense, but this is the best for an alliance to capitalize on that.
