It depends what you mean by fake. It was apparently put together in an emulator making great use of autosave and such like, but theres no actual hacking or anything in it.

Re: Mario 3 completed in 11 minutes (old)
woah seems indeed pretty real to me. Quite amazing, every movement he makes has a purpose, I think I only saw him shoot about two times without any reason. Skipped a bit in the middle as those tanklevels start to become dull.

30(?) fps for 11 minutes is a hell of a long time to spend just to make yourself look good on t'internet...

I prefer the "Quakle done quick" movie, showing some random person compeleting Quake in under 17 minutes.

Re: Mario 3 completed in 11 minutes (old)
theres so many ways that could have been faked. that includes gratuatous use of save states and as suggested above being played at half speed.
i'm not convinced unless i saw it being played from a 3rd party camera

~12 minutes and it was a team of at least 4 people doing different levels each, but yes it is 10 times more impressive to watch.

There are three whistles in the game, but you only need two of them to do it. Get to world 2 and you can skip from
2-3-4
to
5-6-7 and then to 8.

Re: Mario 3 completed in 11 minutes (old)
I want to see legion or fury or some other big pa alliance successfully pull off a co-ordinated attack on a rival alliance with no "Free retals" no "Farm Planets" no "Hitting large planets just cause they were in the wrong gal at the wrong time even though they are allied" etc etc.

I might just be tempted to do that, as I only recently dug up my old SMS and was contemplating giving Alex The Kid In Miracle World another wiz. Mind you, I only remember half of the little secrets and tricks to speed through it.

If you use a whistle in the Warp World you get to World 8, I thought that was common knowledge.
