It is my sad news to tell you all that i shall be leaving PA. Due to various reasons, mainly being that i'm going to concentrate on real life, having a job that takes up so much effort, a wonderful gf and needing money to finish my studies plus other things, its all eating into my time.

We all know that PA requires a LOT of time to do, time i am getting less and less of so i can't give PA the time it needs.

Having put one hell of a lot of effort into round 11 so far, i will be passing on the code to the team to let them complete it and not just running off with it all.

Farewell mit. I wish you the best in whatever you go on to be doing. please stick around ng for a bit though and not completely disappear into the mysterous entity known as real life, which has taken yet another victim :'(

Not So, Mit is one of the primary coders for the Rnd11 Project
He is also a senior member of pateam and has been a significant member of the community for some time

as so its appropriate for this forum

erm no not allowed PA with no Mit is PA with no code and 100 times the bugs dont do it mittus i will annoy u till u finish working at the school if u quit

anyway thats wasting time bit over

Thanks for introducing dave and me to the game if it wasnt for you i wouldnt have played in round 3/4 and if it wasnt for you none of us would have played round 9/10 and the soon to be 11 i will now forgive u for the attacking me when we were in the same gal back in round 5 even thou it was the nastiest thing ever

Just curious, and in no way to detract from the Topic or its content and author.

Is there really any need for you to TOTALLY leave the setup Mit. By all means hand the coding over to someone else but seeing as the majority of the code has been done by you surely it makes sense for you to stick around in an advisory role which would require less time but be no less important. No matter how well your design doc ect is only the original programmer ever has a complete grasp at how the code works and you really should be around to advise on things like new features bug fixes ect

The whole point of going to all the (unnecessary) effort of recoding PA was that Mit would be leading PA into the next age, and he didn't know perl. Now not only will he not be around to support the new codebase, but he won't be finishing it either.

I sure hope this is a joke.

round 11 is gonna be round 50 at this rate.

isnt it about time jolt stopped flogging this dying horse. I'd rather be able to think of pa as "that great game" instead of "that game that used to be great"

Tim,

Despite my bad feeling towards you after the issues which aren't going to be brought up again here, this new still came as a great shock. Whatever I've said before, out of everyone who was in the position to put the time and effort in to code a round of Planetarion, I'm quite sure you were the man to do it.

As Mushroom said, you've not had the longest here, but I mean that in a complimentary sense. You've acomplished alot in your time "in office", as well as the time before you were roped into the team. All of it is worthy of rememberance and of all of you should be proud.

Obviously, I've not seen the work you've done on round eleven, but I hope that the team carry it on well. I'm hoping that with the design and preparation that went in and the majority of the code you've inputted, we'll have a round that will bring back the masses.

Good luck with real life, with the lovely Vav. I also hope that you sort out those money problems and that you set yourself up for a good, fun student year next year. I expect you shall visit the Southampton crew at some point again.

But this does all beg the question. What's the direction of Planetarion from here? Hopefully there will be some announcement soon to clear the air.

its a shame that PA takes quite so much effort and hard work, but I reckons as thats whats made it so addictive for so many of us
