Paternity Testing
Anyway can you have this done on the NHS?
Not that I'm a cheapskate but £250 to do a relativily simple test seems a lot to dole out.

Hello Killmark
Are you going to take a paternity test?
Not sure who your father is?

I know my fathers 1st name but for those who are unaware my mother is and has been a "missing person" for the past 3 and a half years.
Documents by my mother recently came into my possession that included my mother naming my father including strict instructions he was never to be contacted.
Being the renegade I am I tracked him down the same day and we've since spoken a few times on the phone (he was a little shocked because he got married 2 days before I was born and had never been told).
Seeing as she isn't around to confirm and he's questioned paternity I don't see many other choices.

Ahh, I understand now
Hmm. Wouldn't it be easier to just phone the NHS?

There are only 6 labs licensed to do the testing, blood isn't required just cells from the cheek or hair folicles.
Phoning NHS is useless tried it already.

a paternity test in this instance does not improve health and therefore shouldnt be covered by the nhs!

It would improve my emotional health.
Ofcourse I'm quite happy for the NHS to keep shelling out anti-d's in the meantime.

I like to drink after popping a few anti-d's. I've been drinking every day for the past 3 weeks, except Sundays. 250 quid seems like a fortune. You're being ripped off, man, straight up.

Its something that hasnt been mentioned in this thread, so I dont know if its an aspect you have considered :
Is the man that may be your father happy to take the test and does he fully understand the implications of a positive result (especially if you are under 18) - Also, I dont believe you can force him to take the test.
Just for the record I am not arguing agaisnt you doing this, I believe your are entitled to know - but unfortunatly the may not necessarily agree

He suggested test was taken after he initally questioned paternity, I'm also 21 so the implications are pretty minor.
