Opera - driving me nuts with ad-pages not being found
I'm a regular visitor of two newssites that use ads. But since recently, everytime I open a page on those site, Opera pops up with the message "connection closed by remote server http://images.webads.nl/fok/stir/fok_stir.htm" or "connection closed by remote server http://images.webads.nl/tweakers/stir/tweakers_stir.htm" and I have to click it away.
Weird thing is, I view the same pages at work, also with Opera, but they never complain about this.
So what could this be? I the Opera DNS cache being incredibly persistent? Can I empty it? Or is there any other way to make this madness stop?

Set the DNS of the ad sites to 0.0.0.0.

Opera's lack of 'passive' errors is a really annoying thing about it.

I think you mean "In this thread, newer versions of opera > old versions of opera", which hardly comes as a shock.

Re: Opera - driving me nuts with ad-pages not being found
Well, I installed my new computer, and the problem isn't present anymore.
Thanks for helping GD... NOT!!
Except for MrL, who atleast tried, and gets my rep-lovin' for that.

Re: Opera - driving me nuts with ad-pages not being found
I'd have helped if I had been around. Well, I'd have advised you to update to Opera 8 Beta 2, along with the message that I haven't had any problems at Fok, despite being a regular visitor.
And SYMM, you can get Beta 2 and simply install it in another directory alongside your current installation. You can run them simultaneously without any problems whatsoever, so you can play around with the beta with no worries - I've personally already switched to using Opera 8 as my default browser, because it's very stable and the start bar is a gift from heaven.

Re: Opera - driving me nuts with ad-pages not being found
How do I import my preferences (buttons, panels, skin, preferences etc.) from Opera 7 into 8? I can't be bothered going through everything if I don't have to...
