i kind of lost the place with buffy. was never really a fan but i watched quite a few episodes

but bbc 2 jumped randomly between series's leaving me with unhappy confused thoughts

I cant even tell which way round the later series's come etc.

BBC2 does seem to skip to completely different seasons as it damn well chooses, its a bit strange. Angel is good though.

Well, you can ignore everything from the end of season 3 onwards, up until season 7 (excluding OMFT), and in s7 they have about 15 minutes of 'previously on buffy the vampire slayer', so you don't need to have watched the other series.

The Gift also rocks too. Season 5 in general is brilliant, the development of Spike is masterful. "I know you'll never love me, I know I'm just a monster, but you treat me like a man."

In fact, there's a few post-Season 3 highlights. Even the generally poor Season 4 has "Restless" (which rocks).

And "Once More..." is one of the high points of TV drama in recent years. If nothing else, watch it for Amber Bensons surprisingly good singing.

omwf does indeed rock. dawn should have been shot on day 1 and buffy has only gone down hill since, although it did still suck quite badly in season 4, but only because entire episodes were based around riley

angel was the better show of the 2, but angel has gone downhill since they made cordelia into saint-i-can-do-no-wrong 'cordy', quite frankly i think she should be stabbed in the face 10 times, then repeat until nothing is left but a bloody mess of flesh. then some1 should chop connors head off. s4 angel is outstanding, by far better than buffy7, however it is drastically held back by cordelia and connor.

and MrL i think he means jonathan, andrew, & warren / the trio in the series tara got killed and willow went evil. 2nd from last ep in season 6, last 20seconds redeem the whole season of badness (bar omwf) - evil willow: no-one alive can stop me *some weird magic thing throwing evil willow across the room* enter giles back from england: i'd like to challenge that theory

If I remember correctly, the season had to be adapted to account for Charisma Carpenter's pregnancy, hence that crappy storyline etc.

Yes. It's amazing that two series with two fundamentally rubbish main characters are actually so good. Angel is a dull poorly acted twat, and Buffy is just sanctimonious.

But then again, my friend thinks Angel is a brilliant character. He also likes Batman. I hate Batman. Conclusion?

It gets better, plus season 5 should be good what with all the best buffy and fireflyl writers coming to angel. Apparently spike will feature in angel too. which will either be ace or a pile of ****, i'm unsure.

I used to watch Buffy and it was fairly good but who knows whats going on in it now =/

firefly was canceled for a reason. i've seen all of season 4 angel so far and it is the most random and ****e storyline ever, but the writing and delivery makes up for it 10 fold.

everyone from wolfram and heart are dead. all of them, every last one. they don't exist anymore.

holtz was very clever, what he did was essentially what angelus did to his daughter when he vamped her, made it so that they were there/alive and close, but could never be together... a sort of torture thing. i didn't explain that well but i hope u get what i mean.

I do, and I understand the plot development. But it was just stupid is all. And it clearly didn't work even following the bizarre logic of his plan. Just kill the bastard. There's far too many James Bond-isms in Angel. I know it's difficult to build plot without the main characters just killing each other, but come on...

that was holtz's problem - he had become what he hated and refused to believe angel had changed. and i really wish someone would kill connor and cordelia. they really annoy me. to be honest, all of the plots in angel are complete rubbish and go way too far away from the original idea of the program. they are too caught up in this whole 'champion' thing, luckily i heard they are taking a totally new direction in s5 (with a rebuilt wolfram and heart :\).

God, no. Well, as long as they don't touch the dialogue, since that is actually rather ace in Angel.

As far as Cordelia and Connor go: Cordy has only been really irritating this season and it's mostly because of the role she has to play, and Connor could be a decent character if he could just make his fkin mind up on where he stands.

And the only really good 'season bad guys' that Buffy has had, have been the Master, Angelus and the First. Although the latest addition has the potential of becoming a good one as well.
