Re: Football football football Transfers
Forest have so far signed: Andy Impey, Alan Rogers, Kris Commons, Kevin James and Paul Gerrard.
Next year should be interesting
Other transfers (and rumours) today:
Viduka in talks with Boro
Davids interested in joining Spurs
Hughes joins Charlton from Brum city
Postiga to leave Spurs
Leicester sign Wilcox from Leeds

Re: Football football football Transfers
Postiga is going no where. We just put out a statement saying we've had lots of people enquiring but we weren't interested and we expect him to start the season with us.

Re: Football football football Transfers
On other notes, Bryan Hughes is a big loss for birmingham I feel, signing all these silly big 'unproven' imo names and losing a reliable performer, Charlton look good for lots of tight draws and 1 goal scorelines atm I feel.
Djorkaeff is leaving bolton, Ricardo Fuller will be linking up with the Yak at Portsmouth(no Lua-Lua then ah well. With middlesborough palming off robbie stockdale to rotherham and danny mills prolly not being at boro you gotta think they are pretty confident of getting Reizeger add Viduka to that and that dressing room is going to be snobbish.
With the way Manchester Utd are signing players lately you gotta think Rooney or Torres or someone similar of age and talent is on their way there after they grabbed Gerard Pique from Barcelona.
Have Arsenal signed anyone yet? or are they playing by quietly hoping that they can make the same squad work due to crippling new stadium debts?
Davids hints more at moving to Tottenham and tbh if Tottenham do clinch the signing of Davids I can't think of anyone else bigger that they'll have signed before him, it'll truly be something else.
Jordi Cryuff returning to the english prem with bolton.
Personally the story I'm most interested in is Manchester Utd's Michael Stewart moving to Glasgow Rangers, he looked promising if overshadowed by the god that is Fletcher and could turn into a player similar in the mould to nicky butt imo who isn't half bad :P

Stewart has been at Forest for half of last season - he was awful. we sent him back before the loan was finished.
Don't talk him up, he may develop but he couldn't get into a struggling forest side at the start of this season when we desperately needed a holding midfielder.

Forest was generally awful and usually are awful.
You managed to make Van Hooijdonk look shite.

Obviously it couldn't be because the player isn't very good, because otherwise he wouldn't be linked with super rangers.

Re: Football football football Transfers
no Van Hooijdonk made himself look shite.
He got us promoted and then ****ed off because he's a complete tosser.
Forest have traditionally made average players look world class. We bought players who couldn't get into other players reserve sides and turned them into European Cup winners. Players who looked excellent for us moved elsewhere and played like donkeys. (stan collymore, Neil Webb, Nigel Clough etc)
Anyway, seeing as you probably don't know what you're talking about wrt Stewart (except he's pretty good in champ man) believe me who's seen him play that he isn't very good.

Fixed
p.s. Beckhams just had a season where he looks more worht 4-5 mil than 30-35 mil (dare I make steve mcmanaman comparisons) which goes to show sometimes it can be the side or it can be just an off year, Phillips for example had a really shit last year at sunderland.

Re: Football football football Transfers
yeh, he was awful.
There have been other just as bad signings.
But every team has a few stinkers.
EDIT: Beckham at least showed some instances of class. And he played in the Real Madrid 1st team all season. Stewart couldn't get into the Forest team.
And Phillips has been pretty good since he signed for southampton.

The first half of the season he looked excellent.
He then, for reasons known best to himself, then didn't train at all during the winter break.
Good work there David!

If Arsene Wenger thinks Champ Man is a good enough indicator of quality to have a player scouted in real life, it's good enough for me!

Scouted, yes. Assumed that they're wonderful? No.
Otherwise we'd have been seeing a lot more Swedes and Greeks in the EPL.

Robinson is solid but nought special - good for a squad player in div 1 imo
£1.7M seems a bit expensive for Fuller - if we can chav Lua as well we'll have an ace strikeforce next season.
We've also been linked with Basinas and we happen to be playing Pana on 7th Aug

Why would you sign one of the most over-rated players ever?
I am getting more and more confident that Chelsea wont win the Prermiership next year.

Re: Football football football Transfers
I'ld much rather sign Maniche or Costinha over him. Chelsea dont seem to be trimming their squad either unless they start selling a few midfielders like Parker, Cole, Duff, Makelele or Geremi.

Re: Football football football Transfers
Makalele and Geremi can vamoosh for a start, Cole isnt ready and should feck off to someone half decent. Im not personally a Parker fan but at the very least he needs a season.
Duff needs to stop renting out the Physiotherapists room and start living on the pitch again

Birmingham will sign melchiot and Gronkjaer this week.
As a blues fan I am very happy at our transfer dealings:
Gray, izzet, heskey, forsell and now Melchiot and Gronkjaer.
Let the good times roll ;D

Top scorer in Holland since a little fellow called van Basten, I hear.
And Gronkjaer isn't shit, he's just limited.

I don't mind him being limitd as long as he provides Heskey and Fors with a lot of crosses

They offered 3 million i thought
Your surely having a laugh if Someone like Rooney can Score 4 goals against Croatia and Switzerland and be rated at £50 million, and Baros can score 5 goals against Holland, Latvia, and Dennmark, and be rated at £3 million.
This is where the media needs to get a grip. Imagine if Rooney had scored the goals baros did..

£3m + Angel = Baros, apparantly.
But whilst Benitez has said that he likes Angel as a player, I don't think £3m would cut it given that Real Madrid have expressed an interest, and they tend to pay a bit more.
Assuming he's moving, which would be an utterly idiotic thing to assume.

I think its funny that he becomes top scorer and Madrid want him - just simply for that.
Plus - isn't it the presidential candidate (not John Kelly) that wants him? And after the Beckham fiasco we know how farsical these things are.

I suspect he's wanted because of his immense scoring record in international football, combined with his age. The Golden Boot just put him in the public eye.

Dont know if i understand the logic in making a player in his second season at the club who has expressed an interest in going back home to Scotland, after spending his first season on the injury list for a year. Lets not even mention his Scotland "career".
However,
I did say last year that to use Ferguson properly you had to build a team around him rather than sub him on and off like you tried for the start of last season. So in that sense its a good move, lets see if "Super Barry" can actually play football or not as he has everything to prove.

Re: Football football football Transfers
Before he got injured he was playing very well. I think he even finished the season with most man of the matches even though he didnt play most of it. Admittedly it took him 5 or 6 games to settle, but he had just moved to a new town and much faster league.
Flitcroft has gradually become less of an influence on the team over the last few years and isnt guarenteed a first team place anymore. Next season its more likely to be Ferguson and Tugay or Thompson in the middle.
I guess it was either Ferguson or Amo for captain as we dont have any other real leader in the squad apart from Short, who is getting on a bit and is only a squad player now.
