Or can you not be bothered to care if they say that the credibility of the theory of evolution sucks because they can say that it's just as probable as throwing a pig into a tub of grease and expect it to come out shaped like a straw of grass?

I've come to the conclusion that such discussions must come to and end. It's a waste of time and money.

After I realised it has very little bearing on anything we should do I sort of stopped caring. Now I like to think that the earth was created eight seconds ago by a giant bunny rabbit oribiting Pluto in a cloaked ship.

opinionated idiots of all colours annoy me, it just happens i'm a biologist. although i do argue with creationists in the genuine hope of changing some one's mind, or at least making them more informed, rather than out of pure anger (and a bit to show off, i admit).

nod, considering how staggeringly simple the basics of evolution are (if also subtle and far-reaching), and how plentiful and simple the evidence*, i don't have a problem with laymen supporting evolution. Darwin was a layman by today's standards, and most of his arguments remain cogent. This is especially the case because most attacks come from the equally ill- or mis-informed, so that they can be defeated by a parrot trained to say "you've misunderstood the concept of entropy" over and over again.

In summary, i agree with Ed.
