I'd imagine a far greater number of people are born like that. Should we stop breeding?

I'm sure it's happened. It's not like every single drink-drive accident is like that. It's just an appeal to emotion.

Are you trying to justify drink-driving by saying people are born with problems?

This would have no effect on the interest in driving drunk to a truly rational person.
However, to the irrational person it might appeal to their emotions and cause a change in their behaviour (cause them to no longer drive drunk).
The first one is inconsequential as anyone truly rational wouldn't drive drunk in the first place.
The second one is actually a positive, because less people driving around drunk is a good thing.
'where's the problem?'
(ps: the category of 'angsty net-using teens who realize this is just an appeal to emotion, and then drive drunk just to be spiteful' were admittedly left out of the above analysis. but when they drive drunk and crash and die, i'll call that a 'net positive' too)

Tired bus drivers are a lot more dangerous than drunk drivers. Though that does not mean driving drunk is ok. It's not as much the risk that they possibly get themselves killed, but they generally take someone else with them.

We can't legislate against tiredness. We can legislate against drunk driving.

slower reaction times
(don't think he listed them in order like you thought)
anyway
there's "i've had a pint and and will be fine" and "only ten pints?!? cause i can drive"
being tired when driving can be more dangerous than someone 'drunk' if it's only a pint or 2
having said that, anyone who drinks/drives is taking a stupid risk with ppls lives that's unnecessary

We can impose limits on the amount of time someone can spend behind the wheel, and have bus drivers who are caught driving tired lose their license.

How would you do that? There isn't a simple test you can do to see how long people have been driving.

I presume companies who employ bus drivers have ways of checking what amount of time their personnel is spending on the road.

That's companies, not in general. It would then be the company's reponsability if they can control their drivers so well.

A tachograph!
But I'm not sure they use them in buses. They use them in lorries, and most companies will fire drivers for failing to use them correctly.

Very few people drive a bus around with 50 passengers during their spare time.
And whether or not the company takes the responsibility, the driver himself should do so in the first place.

Since its the companies that control how much the employees work, and as you said it's not something that people do indepedent of employment, why not legislate through the companies?
