I'd normally agree but in the case of graeme souness we're probably talking about one of the worst managers in the history of football. Look at the evidence, souness in charge of blackburn and takes them deep into relegation trouble, somehow gets given the newcastle job with newcastle finishing fifth in the premiership the previous year. After eighteen months newcastle are in fifteenth and blackburn are level on points for sixth place. Souness also spent a lot more money than mark hughes did.

Thats a bit harsh on him. He took us out of the old division one and back in to the Premiership. In the Premiership with him we finished sixth one season and won the Worthington Cup in the other. It all went wrong after that and we were lucky to not get relegated.
He is a cheque book manager and buys a lot of shit. He falls out with far too many players and his training techniques are truely awful. Its not coincidence that Newcastle have a long injury list, we had that problem when Souness was at Rovers. Then he brings players back far too quickly and they get injured again. This is the complete opposite to Hughes who is quite happy to leave Bellamy out of the squad to nurse him back to full fitness and Bellamy doesnt fall out with the manager.
From just above the relegation zone to just off a Champs league spot in the space of a year under Hughes is pretty impressive though .

Titus Bramble is a genuine working-class hero.

George Graham - Tottenham Hotspur
Kenny Dalglish - Newcastle / Celtic (w/Barnes)
Being Scottish and being compared to either of those two is not necessarily a good thing.

Theres still a steady flow of Scottish Managers going south. Some good , some bad , some EXCEPTIONALLY overrated.
Premiership Chairman need to realise that managing a top club in Scotland to a small degree of success is in no way a verification of a managers ability to take over a club with the size or stature of any current premiership club (and a few Championship clubs as well).

Re: [Football] SOOOOOOOOOOOO Long Souness
One of my friends down in London works in the promotions business and has developed quite good personal friendships with many footballers and managers.
For example, he's good friends with Shearer, Souness, Terry, that Man Utd manager bloke and a fair few others.
He's given me good information on who to put bets on in the past and now he's given me tips on who's going to be taking Newcastle over.
At the odd's he's being given, I'm sticking a tenner on it.
