Re: Ascendancy ‘giving something back’
Who cares what Asc decides to hit, they're gonna win the round anyway.

C'mon dont act innocent here m8, ive been around too long to get fooled.
We all have seen ASC pulling smart tricks out the sleeves tru the rounds. If you ask me, nothing but respect for that!
But ok, ill take the time to explain myself.
My prediction
-ND or CT win this poll
-ASC, winner of the poll & friends pwns the loser of the poll
-ASC declares war to their temporarely allie (most likely a week before roundend)
-ASC take the lead and let out a shitload of hidden prod
-ASC bragging about how great they played this round and how stupid the rest is for not seeing ASC as a real contender for #1.
-I win cuzz ASC succeeded to draw away attention from theirselff to ND and CT as the main contenders for the round win.
Oh...and all of this ofc to make the game fun and more interesting, yea right

I seriously despair at how stupid and paranoid a minority of this community are. Lets go through a few things shall we.

That's a fantastic prediction, thanks for that!
Quote:

Whether or not we have 'friends' to help us hit the 'winner' of the poll depends on other alliances not on ascendancy. However if CT lose the poll I'd imagine people will be lining up to help us, but that's another matter.
Quote:
-ASC declares war to their temporarely allie (most likely a week before roundend)

That will depend on the circumstances of whether we have a chance to win after we have ensured the 'winner' of the poll has no chance themselves. This poll is a result of other alliances not wanting to give us a chance of winning ourselves, so it makes sense to me that we therefore remove the 'winners' chance in return.
Quote:
-ASC take the lead and let out a shitload of hidden prod

There's a new option called 'Planet scan', which shows exactly what hidden production planets have, and I say with absolute confidence that Asc will have no more hidden prod than CT/ND, never mind enough to actually make up a 10million gap through it. Prove me wrong, scan us all and come back with the figures!

I believe if Asc win, Asc will be saying how poorly certain alliances played the entire situation, not the 'master strokes' that they pulled off themselves.
As far as interesting goes, what would you prefer? The top alliances to just carry on galaxy raiding?

Re: Ascendancy ‘giving something back’
As I said to game when he first suggested this it's a good idea. I believe my precise words were "it's good to see my penchant for grandstanding public gestures is rubbing off on you" or something like that. Roidracing to the win is just wank to be honest and yeah it's still roidracing even if you're desperately trying to work out how many heavy x alliance galaxies you can hit without making the other guys hit you back. The reasons rounds of PA often seem so boring is because there is absolutely no proactive politics whatsoever so anything that does happen you can see coming from a ****ing light-year away. This, hopefully, should be different.

Re: Ascendancy ‘giving something back’
Just as a throw away comment, and seens as someone brought up how Asc have OMG HIDDEN PROD. I have scanned a few CT planets today. Their top 26 fat planets, couldn't be bothered to go further down. The results are :-
They have 6.7mil score in hidden production, and 900k extra score in resources if spent. So that must surely mean CT have at LEAST 10mil score to be added in Hidden/Resources. Which I'd estimate puts them about 3-7mil ahead of ND (prolly like 5mil), depending on how much ND have hidden.

Alliance conflict is a lot more interesting to be honest. Plus there are four, or maybe just three, ascendancy planets in there.
PS How many fence sitting galaxies do people think there are? Bar 12.1 I can't really think of any gal that has avoided incs to a massive extent.

Re: Ascendancy ‘giving something back’
With several Asc members refuting any claims that this thread is an attempt to either remove Asc from the proverbial hot seat or prevent them finding themselves there, it leads me to believe that Asc have/had nothing to gain from this, be it politically or on the scoreboard, whatsoever. I would like to commend our community elected "game keepers" for being above all the petty self interest that we find the rest of the Planetarian community to be constantly succumbing to.
Thankyou Ascendancy for keeping our interests in mind when making your political decisions, its such hard and thankless work, yet you do it for nothing other than "fun." Once again, thankyou.
Ascendancy: Real nice guys.

After todays incomings i think it safe to assume that ND weren't "ready" as they'd already lined up Ascendancy as targets

I've been in asc this and last round, and I can assue you 100% that there is no way in hell Ascendancy is in any shape capable of winning this round. As we speak one of our biggest scores have set himself for deletion, another of our big planets left tag after getting negative review of his target assignment, and when he came back in he crashed his fleet. We simply suck this round.
Personally I blame Game. But then again, who says blaming others have ever worked. I've been shit aswell!
Oh and Nestorn, please refer from writing anymore on AD or I will have to break into your house and steal your keyboard.

and i still fail to see how the Asc late starters are the newbies the bot planets were apparently created to help... not to mention even if that was the case its the late starters of last rounds winning ally using the bot planets the most...

Re: Ascendancy ‘giving something back’
How can you be surprised asc/12:1 has hit 1:1 the most?
There's a great tradition in asc for signing up late in the best gals, ofc they will farm 1:1 for ages and hide prod like crazy, its how the contribute best score wise. We got at least 10 late starters in tag and they barely def but attract more incoming than average, not sure how this is "great" for an alliance to have. And they will be first to get roided when those gals get hit
I'm all for removing the bot planets in 1:1 eventhough they have provided the uni with 50k extra roids, but its a different discussion entirely and not one we should have in this thread.
Also, 3:4 has a very underrated fence, heh its at least as big as 12:1/11:9's.
Funny though, if you look at the roid graphs alliance wise, you'll notice ct haven't gotten hit big one single time.. but ofc, asc are the sneaky political bastards that never get inc !!12

At least you removed that phrase that had last been used in 1996 and even then caused wide-scale scorn to be heaped on everyone involved.

If ND lose this round, it's all your fault.

A decent response.
Currently Ascendancy are 4th with our chance of winning somewhat remote. So from our current position, there's nothing for us to lose, but some entertainment (and hopefully roids) to gain. Given a choice, we'd rather work with another ally to do it but as the situation is as it is, why not have a poll to make it more interesting.

Re: Ascendancy ‘giving something back’
where is the option: I don't give a shit ? I'm sure it would change the result of the poll if it was there.

Re: Ascendancy ‘giving something back’
If you don't give a shit, don't vote. Simple.

So he gave them the coy little wave and realized it probably would have been more effective if he hadn't been lying on their turkey.
