This has to be a joke. A federal judge in New York has allowed lawsuits over the 11 September attacks to proceed against airlines, aircraft makers and operators of the World Trade Center.
OK, the airlines I can possibly understand although they are probably going to be covered by the fact that they followed established FAA procedures but Boeing ? What ? Are you a ****ing retard ? Like Boeing could design an anti arab gentleman disabling device.
And the operators of the Trade Center ? Huh ? Like what the **** aer you thinking they could have done ? Surface to Air missiles ? Tractor Beams ? A Harry Potter Cloak of Invisibility ?
Someone, somewhere in the US government has GOT to put a stop to lawsuits that are just stupid or even better, a hunting season for lawyers. Shoot the whole ****ing lot of them. The US is also claiming taxes for SAS (Scandinavian Air Service) travels betwean london and Stockholm,
I don't really believe any of those two cities are situated in USA.

Well, not building the towers so high would be nice. Avoiding city ordinances put in place because fireman warned that they would not be able to work effectively on such a high building could make them liable. That's just an example. I'm not an expert and neither are you.

Didn't make planes safe lol. They kind of crashed into buildings, i don't think planes were quite meant to do that :P . Lockable cabin doors, i'm sure that you can lock cabin doors, but if anything i'd be more inclined to look at the airport security. Apparently they (suiciders) were acting funny beforehand.

Being able to sue is not the problem. Bringing a suit is a challenge to a law, often a common law.
The problem is a suits getting out of hand with punitive damages and crap like that. Although there needs to be control on what juries and judges can award.

That's for the experts to decide, isn't it? Profiling and so on simply doesn't work as well as much cheaper and simpler practical measures.

So the passengers fight back and then they get sued :P . It's like if someone breaks into your house, and you hurt/kill him in an act of self defence, you get sent to prison whereas the burglar, assuming he's still alive, will probably get a slap on the wrist at worst.
And i still don't see how Boeing can be blamed for Sep 11th at all. This would only happen in America. Whilst they're at it, they might as well sue the fuel suppliers for supplying the fuel to the planes

Most of these cases will be thrown out, or lost. The ones that are sucessful you can be reasonably sure there was a real issue of negligence on behalf of one of the parties.
Having said that, I'm not sure what benefit most of this will have. As stated, probably the biggest factor in the hijackings being sucessful was information given (implicitly or explicitly) to passengers not to resist in a hostage situation. As has been said numerous times before, if the same situation were to occur now, it's pretty sure that 95% of people would get up and try and struggle with any potential hijacker (especially if they only had knives, etc).
Public reviews (not to mention private-sector analysis) will inevitably have recommendations about both airline safety and building codes, so I'm not sure that these types of actions will modify anyones behaviour significantly.

Since a large majority of Americans either didn't vote or didn't vote for Bush, that hardly seems like a significant obstacle to a lawsuit.
In fact, suing the government is a popular pastime in America (perhaps not uncoincidentally, the government also happens to have the deepest pockets); although the success rate is pretty low even by US standards.

He allowed the trial. They didn't win. Just like the lady that spilled hot coffee all over her crouch and sue McDonalds lost in the appeal, but most of you are too short sighted to know that. Though, I do agree with the airlines. It is very retarded that somehow its their fault they where hijacked by terriost. Since when does an American Airlines employee do that little wand search and run the x-ray machine not to mention they didn't even crash the plane.
My prediction, they will loose. In appeal of course.

if you got the latest they stoped the sue on WTC operators and boing since they had no clue about the happenings the airlines are lible because they could have stoped it if they didn't hire morons to screen people

In todays DN (swedens biggest newspaper) an american women, brother to one of the firemen that died in the WTC said that she wants the government to seal off the borders, bomb the entire middle east and take revenge on the entire islamic world.
The show will go on, people want revenge
