Out Of Exile
Am I the only one who thinks 'Audioslave - Out Of Exile' is one of the best albums this year? I'm completely stunned now after listening through it. Simply one of the best albums I've ever heard. I wasn't really an Audioslave-fan before, but now I certainly am.

Re: Out Of Exile
I haven't heard it yet, but I imagine I'll like it. I was already an Audioslave fan however.

Re: Out Of Exile
This album is a firm favourite of mine. It has had many plays on my ipod. It gets better the more you listen to it.

Re: Out Of Exile
Have only listened to it once, for me the best album of 2005 is Lullabies to Paralize by the Queens of the Stone Age and Kaizer Chief's Employment coming quite close.

Re: Out Of Exile
'Be Yourself' is imo the best track on the album. F'cking rocks! Usually when I listen to music I haven't heard before I have to listen to it a couple of times before actually 'liking' it, but these songs caught me at once.

Re: Out Of Exile
I was just about to put the CD in my player when I saw this thread, fate or what? I'll get back to you when it's done :P
So far though my favourite album of the year has been Devils and Dust by Bruce Springsteen.

For me it's one of those albums you just listen as a whole, I rarely pick one song from it to listen to it on it's own.

No, you're not. Be Yourselve and Doesn't Remind Me have the highest Play Count on my WMP

Re: Out Of Exile
Finished listening to it, it doesn't really stand out for me as an absolutely amazing album. However, Out of Exile, Be Yourself and Doesn't Remind Me are great songs that I shall probably keep listening to.

It's a good album, but I don't think it's a great album

Re: Out Of Exile
I never knew a song about a dandelion could be cool. I wish this album had some slightly heavier tracks like the last album did. Can't wait to see them live again

Re: Out Of Exile
I'm sorry, RATM were gods - Audioslave are not. I will concede that their new album is better than the old, though.

Re: Out Of Exile
I'd suggest Pearl Jam - Ten and/or Black
and lets leave it at that, Audioslave always were pants

Pearl Jam - Ten scores high with me aswell, but imo can't compare them to Audioslave. They're not pants
And if we were to discuss the best albums then Live - Mental Jewelry tops my list

Re: Out Of Exile
Okay, this album is in my opinion approximately equal to the original.
Dandelion is a great song, and I like Be Yourself too. Out of Exile is exactly like one of the songs on the first album though, so it doens't particularly stand out.
edit: The Curse is also a fantastic song

Re: Out Of Exile
Go online and buy the temple of the dog album (I say this as I doubt many of you will leave the house just to get a CD), and thank me when you realise how much better than audioslave, and even soundgarden, it is.
Basically its soundgarden and pearl jam as one band from back in the day, it is without a doubt one of the best albums of all time.

I used to have a Temple Of The Dog album from years back (1990 ?)
Can't remember what it was, but it was pretty good.

Re: Out Of Exile
Speaking of new albums I've been recently enjoying System of a Down's Mezmerize, and Eels Blinking Lights and Other Revelations

Re: Out Of Exile
Yeah Mezmerize is pretty good but I can feel it will get old quite quickly. Still listening to it though.

Mesmerize is pretty damned good; I particularly like Radio/Video. I must admit I didn't know the Eels had a new album out, although I was aware they were touring; time to investigate methinks.

Radio / Video is pretty good although I've found BYOB and Violent Pornography to be the most accessible tracks, although I'd heard them before downloading the album in clubs, etc.
