Re: [football] the big league rnd 4
btw next tuesday/wednesday there are midweek games, but only 7 of them, so afterwards 6 people will have played one game less. This usually evens out later but it's possible that the missing games might not be played this year, eg I think Liverpool only have 17 games compared to most team's 19.
A simple solution would be to allocate some of the matches twice, just to keep everything even. This could mean that occasionally people with fixed teams would have to predict another. Opinions/suggestions?

example.... you don't predict a team midweek. Most other people do. You've played one less. Time passes. You're always that little bit behind. Xmas arrives, league ends, your missing match was never played. Are you bothered?

Re: [football] the big league rnd 4
Last season we ended at christmas and started again new year... I hesitate to call it a "reset". By that point, some stuck near the bottom are getting fed up, sometimes there's a clear leader at the top etc. Restarting gives everyone another chance, lets us get new players in to replace those who don't want to continue etc.
If everyone was happy to go the whole season and the top few were close, then there's no problem letting it run, but half a season has worked out well in the past and unless a fair number of players specifically ask for it to be extended, it will end with the last match in December (maybe we'll have a poll nearer the time)

Re: [football] the big league rnd 4
NEW FIXTURES
note these are midweek games... tue/wed
Code:
23 [Birmingham] 1-X v midge5 [Middlesbro]
23 [Portsmouth] lokken v pig [Aston Villa]
23 [Sunderland] Reidy v roadrunner [Man City]
24 [Arsenal] Phang v sniborp [Fulham]
24 [Arsenal] KoeN v Apothos [Fulham]
24 [Blackburn] JC v Blasto [Tottenham]
24 [Bolton] Lupin v Kura [Newcastle]
24 [Bolton] Zharkov v furball [Newcastle]
24 [Chelsea] LHC v MrL [West Brom]
24 [Chelsea] SYMM v Obliterate[West Brom]
If this seems odd, there were no midweek matches for
SYMM, KoeN, Furball, Obliterate, Zharkov, Apothos
so I assigned some of the games twice to keep the number of games played even
