Tides of Fire Welcomes New Planetarion Players

To all new or interested planetarion players: Tides of Fire is welcoming all new planetarion players to apply to join our ranks.

Tides of Fire will teach you all aspects of Planetarion if you are willing to put the neccessary time into it. We have a few simple requirements for all applicants:

1. You must be new to the game this round or planning on getting a planet next round.
2. You must use and be active daily on IRC.
3. You must be willing to invest time into the game (this game can be complicated at times but is well worth the effort).
4. You must have a paid planet.

All new players that can fill these requirements join #tof on irc.netgamers.org and speak with an OP in the room.

*Are you a current planetarion player looking for an alliance? ToF now requires two vouchers to join. If you are interested in becoming a loyal ToF member then join our public room and get to know our members. Vouchers are not easy to get, but are well worth it.

you're basically cutting out all those potential PA players, who are not necessarily all that outgoing, but could be sneaky, cunning strategist (god113) and (could be) excellent new PA players...

but, why 2 vouchers for old players? cant they just make a new nickname and say they are new players? ^_^

A voucher system is basically a way to build ToF with a close group of members that have out of game relationships (e.g. they chat on irc about non game related issues a lot and become online friends). ToF is tired of members joining us and then leaving for other alliances. We don't want alliance hopers or players always looking for the bigger better deal when it comes to alliance ranks. We want a loyal group of members that will help the alliance move up through the ranks. Not a bunch of players that are just using ToF as a pit stop to grow and then join a more established alliance or higher ranked alliance (like many have done). We would like to see ToF carry on and move through the rounds with a somewhat common memberbase.

Most of that information was intended to be given out as a new player applied, but since it seems I was unclear in this post, I will post it here.

New planetarion players are welcome to apply. If they seem active and show a strong interest in learning the game, we will let them in as a recruit on a trail basis. If they become inactive or loose interest in the game they will be removed from the alliance. It would take a bit more then just a 5 or 10 minute interview to access the level of interest a new player has in the game. They would be instructed to stay in the public channel for a period of time and remain active on IRC. If they show an interest in the game and an interest in joining ToF, then they are accepted at a recruit level and trained. Basically, the new players would have to get the sponsorship of a Executive Officer before joining as a recruit. Friends of our current alliance members only need vouchers from two current members and they are given membership into the alliance.
