Everyone has their opinions. Olympians have various advantages right now that other new alliances don't/didn't have. I by far do not presume to think Eclipse is better than Olympians, but neither can I say if Oly are better. Both alliances in their format are untried and tested. I think its abit early to say which alliance is the most skilled.

Hm.. this post is totaly un-founded. How do you know this? Just from names? Or from actuall actions?
It cant be by actions due to Oly being a new alliance and not having a 'field test' yet.

What are your (and the 'other peoples' - who are they also...) previous history that leads you to believe they have the 'skills' to be 'up there'? Theres a big dif between top 100 and top 10

Loads of time playing pa
A winning alliance/block (even though Xanadu/LDK got the top planet in r6 whilst loosing to FoS)
Willingness to stay up late
Unegoistical galmates

Oh gee, I don't know. Maybe that I've been in the same alliance as, or allied to, almost all of them for the past few rounds? I've known how well each of them has done exactly at each point in the past 3 rounds too. Some I've known for 5 or more rounds. Some I don't know at all.
And I can compare them to Eclipse because I've also known how well a lot of their better players have done in the last few rounds too. Although I certainly don't know all the members of Eclipse.
I wasn't referring to the alliance, so I probably shouldn't have said 'alliance'. I meant that, in my opinion, Olympians have the better members than any other alliance, at the moment. Meaning the average skill per member is highest in Oly. I'd put Eclipse 2nd.

Coincidentally, I would argue the point of Olympians having the highest concentration of skilled players. Olympians just have a number of "elite" people, as do many other alliances, who are we to judge the best players before the round has begun?

Argueably, however some people who are "top class" were screwed last round for one reason or another, some didn't play, and some people who ended highly ranked only did so due to their alliance.
I agree with you that Olympians has a great core of top class players, but the true judgement can only really be passed once this round is over.

Depends at what point in the round u start counting. Many factors who contribute to what happens. U can't say girlee isn't a good player even if she didn't end with a high score. If alliance collapse or your side is just overwhelmed etc..

I'm not saying that. Fury, FAnG etc had good players last round.
This reminds me of something Rob said in another thread. I can only base my judgement on what I already know, which is last round and rounds before that.
What else would I base it on?
I know people have left, people have joined and neither alliances (Olympians and Eclipse) have played a single round, but from what I know of last round I made an assumption.

My best guess would be MadCowS. If not, prolly Olympians, Ministry or RaH. I dont think Eclipse will manage to keep their planets up there.

There's nothing wrong with legal escorts. It's a perfectly valid tactic.

It's necessary. Groups who have learnt to use escort to be more successful in attacks have adapated better to what PA has changed into in recent rounds.

'las ketchup' would be a lithuanian named Servuz.. And quite the skilled guy at that...
Oh and 'escorting' sure beats farming in my book... Not saying Servuz didnt farm..Nor am I saying he did... Coz I frankly have no clue whatsoever =)
But im giving him the benefit of the doubt..

Would anyone win a round if their ally didnt defend em...
the #1 player will inevitably be attacked with force near the end of round... thats how it goes... just to knock em off #1. I dont see what u are tryin to show here :/

Yes it is. You had plenty of escorts on your attacks last round, (not including your OB's on Parra, that never worked).
Escorting people to big targets is the only way of roiding big people now in PA. Otherwise it's easily defended. Escorts then pulling at 1 minute to landing and taking 15%, of course.
And we all know why you really won round 7.

Quite probably, as I recall he only stayed so that he could wipe out most of LDK's feeder planets (At a loss of 50 million to himself) if there wasn't enough defence he'd have simply ducked out. Would you like to me start naming instances where Fury bailed out Legion ? We were allies, don't be so petty for Chist's sake. I’ve always had the upmost respect for Legion, but during last few rounds certain members of their command needed **** smoker tattooed to their foreheads

..and that's very sad
There is NO #1 player anylonger, there can only be a group of ppl who only work to make one guy win at the end...so we could remove "top planets ranking" and give doxologies on ppl who made it possible for him to win.....althought being the support pe0n is even worse than being the roidfat egoist...

Definately. I'd much prefer a game where one v one battles were a lot more common, but PA has reached the point where it's very hard to get roids and near impossible to roid top planets, without lots and lots of ships.

Some people take pride from the fact that it's benefitting their side to sacrifice their ships night after night without gaining any roids. With any group I've been involved with using escorts I've always tried to share the roids equally around everyone, so that noone is hogging them all. Plush managed to do the same last round on a number of occasions.

the alliance that will have the top spot(s) next round,is the one with the biggest percentage of the 1200 planets playing (including farm/scan/escort planets) the round, not quitting due to extreme boredome..

Can you name one instance in the same magnitude as that assault?
Not petty little defenses sent at gal mates/attack groups from fury to legion and legion to fury which is what your most likely refering too.

Least the VtS BC crew did work in the end of the round. All the fury bc's cared bout was retals on allied planets that they said had lost there protection defending one of there alliance mates in another galaxy. When asked to present the valid information so that the retals could be authorised they didnt have any proof so that almost all retals were denied. Why did you think i was sending all those pa mails to the FAnG fellas to recall defense from there buddies(though none never recalled). That way they lost there allied galaxy protection and retal authorisation was granted. None of the Fury BC staff ever did this.
P.S. Cheers to the BC crew at Legion the best Ive ever seen.

Escorting people to big targets is the only way of roiding big people now in PA. Otherwise it's easily defended. Escorts then pulling at 1 minute to landing and taking 15%, of course.
And we all know why you really won round 7.

My planet last round wasnt big Nor did (or have I *ever*) expected those attacking with me to recall to allow me to get all the roids, even in R7 when I hit valy with my gal I recalled to let them get a large chunk of the roids. And hitting top 10 planets solo doesnt really go down well, but I dont really need to tell you that, do I ? I know mundo attacked alone (ie 1 v 1 on attacks) whereas ldk and plush etc were attacking big planets in bunches, recalling to allow servus/hearts/ado respectively to get most of the roids.
And I was refering to R7 where I basically took a few targets solo each day in gal raids. Compared to TU who took 2 targets a day and had 1/2 his gal launch and recall on the planets when it became undefendable.
And how did I 'really win R7'? farming Titans planets?

Since a few of the Legion fleets recalled in the last few minutes, and since they didnt make up an awfully large amount, and then in relation to my huge lead that I had (I lost 50 mil and was still 50 mil ahead, finishing the round over 100 mil ahead of the next player....) And if I was getting cnuted that bad I could have just ran my fleet.
I was always one step ahead in relation to 'preserving myself for #1'.
However the help Legion did give *was* appreciated.
