calling in sick to work
i can hardly believe it.. but yesterday was the first time i've called in sick to work. i was in bed all day and it was pretty boring actually. today i went back to work.. but i feel like i should still be in bed one of my co-workers suggested i ask my boss if i can go home.. but for some reason i feel bad doing that.
although there's not a ton of stuff to do today.. i've only been here for 2 hours :\
being sick sucks

Re: calling in sick to work
I hate being sick sometimes too. All you do is sit around the house feeling bad for yourself. I hate that feeling. I suggest you get out and try to do your work if possible. What usually works for me is hot milk with honey to combat the sore throat and some halls or other medicine candy for everything else. Against the runny nose you cant win though

Isn't coming into work when you're sick against the Pharmacist's Code of Ethics or something?
If not, it should be.

Yeah, on other people´s faces or food or etc, and maybe, just maybe, we are lucky enough that you infect a third of the worlds population with a debilitating virus, a calamity that will spawn laws all around the world preventing people with sneeze/cough/sniffle from going to work, with stability and full wages. Make it double wage, considering all the money you are going to spend on medicines. YEY

Not that close, actually; plus it's in North Dakota. I try to avoid North Dakota on general principles.

Hows the runny nose? When I am sick I dont mind the soar throat and all that stuff, but I cant stand the runny nose. Like, you blow for a good 10 minutes and its all out, 30seconds later your filled to capacity again. Makes no sense to me.
Although last time I was sick I thought about it and came to a conclusion. If your think your throat gets smaller and as such less mucus can go down it to your stomach to act as a catalyst to any food in there. Therefore since the throat and the pipe that you use to breath with from your nose are connected (ie thats why when you drink and laugh hard it comes out of your nose) and nothing can go down your throat it comes out your nose. That also could explain why you dont feel very hungry when your sick.
Thats my theory at least. I am no biologist/doctor/nurse/whatever so I am probably way off, but its still a nice theory
