Regardless of if you support or disagree with the war on terror..
I hope we can all come together and give our best wishes and support to the REAL victims at Guantanamo bay.
Poor guards... having war declared upon them by a horde of chained up prisoners...

(Sorry, I know it’s a shit thread and I am sure 90% of the people here read the BBC so have already seen the article, but the "act of war" part just made me feel it needed highlighting here...)

they're scraping the barrel somewhat to claim its an act of war, they just make themselves look even more rediculous

What is the motive behind calling it an act of war?

Don't you have to obey the rules of war then?

Re: Regardless of if you support or disagree with the war on terror..
Apart from the obvious and already discussed disagreements everyone generally has with guantanamo this is turning into one of those text book examples of how not to put spin on a story.
Quote:
A top US official has described the suicides of three detainees at the US base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, as a "good PR move to draw attention"...Speaking to the BBC's Newshour programme, Ms Graffy, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy, said the three men did not value their lives nor the lives of those around them.

"An act of asymmetric warfare" has a very Douglas Adams feel about it, in the context.
