R14 Stats.

Are the stats for R14 the ones displayed in the game when I click on "stats"?

According to Kal on IRC:
[09:02:18] <Kal> stats on 03 are alm,ost certainly old
[09:02:33] <Kal> stats on 01 are thoose that will be used in the public preview
[09:02:51] <Kal> after public preview a few stats changed will be made to make the final stats for 03

03 is the main game
01 is the beta

to make life easier - the main game will now allways be on game.planetarion.com - so any stats there are for the main game. However as someone said quoting me the stats there are old. The current most uptodate stats are on beta.planetarion.com and theese will provide the basis for the round 14 stats.

u guys screwed the t stats and shouldnt have stealing for all races

we should vote either each race can have stealing ships or not

stealing for ziks only ....

so .. r14 .. each races will have steal ships

when there was only 1 race
i think if thats the case just remove zik
in round 3 too you could choose in your res-tree if go to have some EMP or some cloaked ships
and ofc you had 2 stealing ships
where this shit is happening ?
if everybody have steal ships, then everybody should have EMP and cloacked as well
no more races

well i htink those are for the beta. seen as i asked appocomaster about the stats for round 14 and he said the stealing would be turned into normal in the other races

May i suggest that you read the stats and not only the 'type' column ? You'll see that the stealing ships in the terran, cath and xan can't steal more than 1 ship class, while zik can steal every class of ships.
There has been stats with steal and emp ships for all, it was a bit too complicated for the new players.
These stats are for the public beta, we'll all test them and then we'll be in a position to point out if it is as terrible as you suggest.
Just join the beta and see how it works.

Well, I personally hope that every race gets stealing. To quote Jester, it's just too much fun to restrict to just one race.

Votes have almost always gone the wrong way regarding the welfare of Planetarion. Successful players are, by nature, conservative. They know how to do well with stats as they currently are, and are scared of losing their top spot if a change occurs. This is a good idea that doesn't seserve to be shot down by these types of people, and a successful private beta proved that.

Originally in the plans for Round 14, all races did get an EMP and cloaked ship as well but I think it was found to be either too complex or unbalanceable, so it was dropped. Besides, everyone just wanted the stealing anyway and so voila.

Comparisons to the early rounds lack merit. There are now 48 ships instead of 10, targetting is totally different (no random targetting) and there are now decent bash limits.

Please try to understand the changes before reacting to them.

Also, the non-Zik stealing ships all fire _AFTER_ all other ships, including Ziks'. So I don't think it was a screw up, because if there are, for instance, any Scorps to steal your CO, it is your (Zik) fault for not having enough Rogues

Agree with most of what's above, specially by furball, Makhil and electron. ^^

If you view other threads on the forum, you'll see there's been a lot of discussion, but unless something goes horribly wrong, minus a few tweaks these should be the stats for next round.
