OK, you need quite a bit of soldering experience to change the resistor, but neat overall.
OK, whom of you bought a 9700 and feels fecked up the arse now ?

It's not a volt mod. They change the position of a resistor, update the GFX BIOS and overclock it, doubling the amount of used pipelines to 8 and increasing memory bus width.
The thing is that everything (amount of pipelines, databus, core) is physically the same on the 9500 (not pro) and 9700pro. It's only disabled by that single resistor and the GFX BIOS.

I'm bloody not.

Just done some research, and cant find a single report of it WORKING. Apparently the early R9500's that were on R9700 PCBs with R300 cores (all 9500/9700 have R300 cores) are reject 9700's that have a fault in one of the 'extra' four pipelines - they work fine in 2d, but 3d gives corruption.

Also the mod looks ****ing tricky.
