But no, it doesn't make it bad. I still love perl, and use it quiet a lot.

Perl isnt as old as C.

Plus its getting close to version 6, which should be very interesting. I read somewhere that over half the perl documentation is devoted to embedding perl into other things, you dont see many embedded PHP systems.

PHP is a language for webdevelopers new to programming, it is designed to be much more simple than perl, without all the data structure handling, and with a more uniform syntax.
