Full time students don't get charged council tax do they? If the residents consist of Students/Non-Students then there is a reduction in the amount you pay i believe.

as an adendum, rather that start a new thread, i have finally moved house to a lovely little two bedroom terraced house, in shildon.
But, quite frankly, it wasnt fast enough, as last friday it all blew up again
I went to a party last friday, and the townies attacked it (for want of a better word) 4 of them attacked the house we were in, distributing various injuries among the party goers.
total list of casualties:
me: arm ****ed up where one of them hit me with a piece of two by four with nails through (ffs)
other lad: broken nose
lass, punched in the face, crying for quite a while

luckily, someone managed to phone the police, and they have been arrested, so we are pressing charges, but i am currently taking bets on wether they are just going to walk away from court with slaps on the wrist which will piss me off no end, as i have been told that i am going to have to get up in court and be a witness (because obviously my 4 page long statement wasnt enough)

im so glad i have moved, bishop auckland sucks, i would seriously suggest that no one ever goes there

i dont know why they attacked the party, i was actually having a breath of fresh air just around the corner when the trouble started, but apparently spat on someone and tried to get into the party.

yes, unfortunatly, this sort of thing seems to be more and more normal in my area

and there were about 50 of us at the party, but most of the trouble happened on the stairs (the party was in a first floor flat) and no one wanted to really try and hit them (we arent like that) especially seeing as one of them had a bit of 2 by 4 with nails through that he seemed to be quite handy with

Sounds like you should have beaten them up fairly badly tbh. But yeah, sounds sucky.

I mean, there is a fair amount of violence in London, but people generally seem to keep it to their own group/"community", etc.
