distorters bug or feature ?
A planet with no alliance can't scan itself if it has more distorters than amps... it can only if it ticks the box to allow gal mates to go through the dists.
Was it made on purpose or it it a small bug ?

Sounds like a bug.

Re: distorters bug or feature ?
It's been this way for quite a while; there's always a question if it was a bug or not. If there no one can think of a reason why you should be blocked scanning yourself, I can fix it. Most people have gone "meh, will just fiddle with the galaxy setting".
to be honest, self scans should probably be free...

No, they shouldn't be free. Getting a JGP on yourself is valuable information.

Agreed. But the costs could be a tad lower than for scans on other planets, agree?

I see no reason why.

Re: distorters bug or feature ?
Ok,
self scans stay full price, now can always scan yourself in case you're too lazy to fiddle in preferences...
(as of next round)

Me neither actually... except that I would like to spend my res on ships instead of scans... But dedicated scanners solve that problem ^^

Re: distorters bug or feature ?
I agree that self scans should not be free. There should be a cost for such an action. Since you get XP for the first couple of scans you do each day, if you're just scanning yourself and any targets you might have you still end up in the plus by spending the resources anyway.

This fact has kept me "competitive" against Ziks in 1:1 for rounds.
It's a good point though and one I hadn't thought of.

Re: distorters bug or feature ?
all this chat of scanning your own planet gave me a little idea. what about some kind of "planet report" option. that produces a link like scans link. would show resources, research, cons, gov, pop, ships, fleets. this would be useful for alliances to better track where their members are at and all the information is already there, its just a matter of displaying it?
could then be a new mod put on merlin/munin/other alliance tools (i dont mean nelito)?
possible security risk but maybe still worth it.

Re: distorters bug or feature ?
yes, just a "my planet" report. not a scan that you can do on anyone else.

Re: distorters bug or feature ?
CT already gets this info about its players, it's quite useful.

And if it comes out positive, call your physician so it can be removed asap.
