I hear some americans dont like France
Quote:
Rep. Ginny Brown-Waite, R-Brooksville, plans to introduce a bill today proposing that the families of the thousands of soldiers, sailors and airmen buried in France and Belgium be allowed to dig up their remains and have them shipped home.
"The remains of our brave servicemen should be buried in patriotic soil, not in a country that has turned its back on the United States and on the memory of Americans who fought and died there," Brown-Waite said.

Yeah, well the Democrats would have probably suggested the same thing. But they would have dug up their bodies AND TAKEN AWAY THEIR GUNS.
(Course, this is only an option she's offering but the fact she thinks it's something people should actually do is stupid)

No, they haven't. Those thousands of white crosses at Normandy represent what happens in war. And that's what the French are trying to stop happening again. No, i think it's the Americans who have forgotton what those thousands of white crosses mean.

Fine, they're invading iraq, but cutting out the UN, France, Russia, China, Germany, most of europe and anyone that disagrees with them. That's why i think they're going to be isolationist when they come back from Iraq.
It starts with axing french fries, and ends with tariffs on foreign goods...

Actually, he was defeated once, after attempting to conquer Spain, Portugal and Russia (and failing dismally), then lived on an island for a while, waiting for the English to leave France. When they did, he escaped, raised another army, invaded Belgium and was defeated by an army half the size of his (it was 3/4 the size of his but the Belgians ran away).

It will probably be the case that when the War is over, France will find itself with some serious problems caused by the position taken by Chirac.
To put forward a position at the UN, that under no circumstances will France support any resolution and in fact apply a veto to anything put forward without due consideration is not only stupid it is arrogant in the extreme.
I sincerely hope that the US and Britain, impose a trade embargo on French goods. or alternatively people in the US and Britain refuse to buy French good.
I for one will never buy anything French again.

The latter I think.
Made me think about starting a personal boycott of UK goods, but I couldn't think of anything I would have to give up .
Seriously, what major goods does the UK export?

According to my sources (*cough* CIA *cough*) the UK's main exports are manufactured goods, fuels, chemicals, food, beverages and tobacco.

They don't use gsk as a brand, because it's the result of a bunch of mergers. (glaxo-wellcome with Smith-kline-beechams most recently).
easiest way to find major british firms would be http://www.fortune.com/fortune/global500/europe/

It doesn't have to be a monopoly, just a market leader or a big share of the market. Something that I propably buy from time to time without realizing where it's from.
I could boycott shell, but I don't own a car :/. And media is kinda hard to boycott, as I don't pay for checking out the BBC site or TV channel, nor do I have one of those devices that keep track of what I watch on TV so couldn't boycott british TV series either (that is one major item you do export though).

I agree UK isn't the real problem (though Blair's behaviour is kinda disappointing) and I don't actually intend to start boycotting british products. I just started to wonder how I would go about doing such a thing, hypothetically.

That would be kind of silly, as it would turn our foreign policy disputes--which we mostly ignore--into domestic disputes--which we have to pay attention to (at least during elections).
Frankly, it's just a whole lot easier to ignore you--or bomb you--than to annex you.
