Opera 7.20
Change Log

Implemented <marquee>
oh yey!!!!!£^£^shgfd./\\./nodrog\/-(%£90twotwothere,
sarcasm aside... this new version is supposed to speed up loading and I think it actually works quite well - as far as I can see there's a new Window -> Loading -> Redraw option that works very well.
go go go

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Opera 7.20
Oh, and the point is that marqee isn't always bright flashing text that bounces of the screen like a spastic lunatic. It CAN be used for effects that wouldn't be implementable without expensive javascripts (which isn't always supported).

If I knew where you lived I'd ...
... know where you live.
edit: it aint as bad as geocities alliance sites but I don't think i've ever found a site that puts marquee to a good use.

1. Those scrolling boxes are incredibly annoying, and are not cross-browser compliant. (Hint: a scrollable inline frame is.)
2. The code doesn't even validate as HTML 4.0 Transitional. May want to take a look at it.

Wow, I'll admit that I was completely wrong about marquee; that certainly improves the readability of the page and doesnt at all distract you when youre trying to concentrate on the static text in the centre.

I know...
80% of the errors are due to the & separator in links (which can't be overcome, cause I need those variables passed over)
15% of the errors are due to the
formatting. Something about the container not allowing <font> tags
1 error because I inserted a comment before opening the HTML tag (ooo, that's bad)
and a few errors because of the margin on the body (which IS supported by 90% of the browsers and IS valid according to blooberry)

Use & amp; (without the space) instead. Problem fixed.

Then you are placing <font> tags in places you shouldn't, like for example inside a <pre> tag. Use CSS instead.

Comments start with <!-- instead of <!- (at least you're consistently doing this wrong ).

If the W3C says it isn't, then it isn't. Margin should be defined in the CSS, not in the <body> tag.

Anything which moves is highly distracting on web pages.
