Alliance suggestion
it would be usefull if alliance's HC and BC could message their entire alliance, as messageig makes sure that everyone at least recieve the important stuff, and it get annoying having message every one individually.

What a totally useless remark. PA-mail all alliancemembers could be handy in some occasions.

Re: Alliance suggestion
It wont be PAmail as such (infact PAmail as we know it may not even be a feature for r12) instead it will be dealt with via the Passport system. This will allow members to be messaged, those outside the alliance to send messages to alliances and so on without revealing co-ords

Re: Alliance suggestion
But PA mail to all alliance members doesnt reveal your coord's, also PA mail acts to avoid stagnation in a very odd way, i mean if you are in an alliance, and some one trys to recruit you, you now have the coords of a member of that alliance, so your alliance can attack them, then you get alliance coords with jumpgate scan to find out the defenders! PA mail is awsome, i think it should stay, because stagnation sucks, and war is fun!

Re: Alliance suggestion
PA mail to all alliance members DOES reveal your co-ords, as it is PAMails have to come from somewhere be it 1:1:1 like the welcome message or from the person sending it's account. Without it theres no way for people to reply to the message. This leaves very few choices when talking about sending mail to all members in game, either they go from the HC's account thus revaling all their location, alliances all get artificial planets that have co-ords but arent part of the playing universe (ie 0:0:1 = 1up, 0:0:2 = FAnG, 0:0:3 = F-Crew, 0:8:1 = Lupin Crux ect) so they can receive mail and send mail or mail is one way.
This is why mail to alliances and mail to members in an alliance is better done externally through the passport system as it improves communication but keeps things secure.
As for your claim that PA Mail stops stagnation, you are kidding right. How many alliances do you know that tried recruiting random people via PAMail, not many. Now how many of those were top 15 alliances, even fewer and even fewer of these did so from an active playing account. F-Crew for example basically recruited a team for our mass mailing campaign from old members whom werent going to play activly enough to be part of the alliance but wanted to help. We then told them what to mail and where to mail it and they passed on all replies which we would then respond to and get them to send a reply back. At no times did we reveal any co-ords of value.
The people whom did fall into this trap were the 'newbie' alliances who have no relevence when it comes to stagnation and it actually would help them if communications like this were outside the game as it would mean they dont make themselves tragets for the vultures.
Anyway the removal of PAMail is just speculation on my part, it could remain but with the increased importance of the passport system from r12 on it just doesnt seem to make leaving the main form of communication outside of this system

Re: Alliance suggestion
the false planet thing would be good! i personally dont use the passpost system, i prefer to email members of use PAMail to contact them, the thing with PAMail is that when you log in you have nice red MAIL thing staring at you, so you know some one is trying to contact you, which i think is great!

Re: Alliance suggestion
You may not use it now but from r12 on you will have no choice over it, everything to do with the game will be tied into your passport account. Your forum account will be connected to it, your game account, your alliance memberships (meaning alliance exist outside of the round), your credits, your portal accounts ect ect
Its basically a way of bringing every part of this community together rather than being seperate entities
And if the passport messaging system DOES replace the current PAmail one you can probally guarentee that a message warning like we see now will be shown both in game as it is now and also outside the game

Re: Alliance suggestion
that would be good! so wha twould it be, when you sign up you get give one password for all 3 then you can change it in any of the 3 places? also with alliances existing outside the game does that mean members would stay within the alliance and as soon as a round started they would be there and in place?

Re: Alliance suggestion
I doubt they'd tell me much, i mean if they dont tell the mods that sort of thing they aint gonna tell a player are they? I think the permanent continuation of alliance's round to round would be good though, i mean it would remove the possibility of an alliance's HC deciding that it wont exist next round but not telling any one, so they are all left thinking they are in an alliance that doesnt exist!

Re: Alliance suggestion
You've pretty well got it in one anyway.
Essentially central login for the game / forums / support
Tied together on one account you keep for life
Holds your credits, instead of in-game, so easier to use on multiple types of game.
Keeps track of your progress over the rounds.

Re: Alliance suggestion
another thought i had was, would it be possible to have a rank higher than HC, like a supreme comander of which there can only be one player occupying it, this rank would enable the player to change the alliance's name, the only reason i thought of this is, that when i came back to playing i just set up my old alliance under our old name again, but then found other alliances had similar names, due to our late entry into the round we decided to wait to change our name, as dispanding the alliance to reform it would have meant waiting 72 ticks. If the name could be changed in game it would prevent the confusion caused by multiple alliances all having variations on a single name.

Re: Alliance suggestion
on suggestions for alliances- is there no way of making it so that you can see if an alliance member is online (similar to the way in which you can see if a galaxy member is online)? This could be handy.
