Roffle. Not sure if it's genuwine or not. Wouldn't be surprising to see the extent of people's efforts to get some cash.

Re: Parent revolts in online auction
"Here is the story: This weekend my 13 year old son decided to be destructive, deceptive and disobedient. I had a bugle I was selling on Ebay and while I was out he decided to “play” with it. Sunday morning when the auction was to end, He picked up the bugle and asked me if I knew it was broken. He handed me the bugle which he had “played” with and both solder joints were broken and since it was out of alignment the slide is now stiff."
I've sold some shit off before myself, but a bugle?
For the love of God.

Re: Parent revolts in online auction
theoretically, as a minor, you don't own anything without explicit consent of your legal guardians...I would think it's safe to assume that said consent has been revoked.
That said, the parents could press charges for theft, vandalism, and probably a truckload of other stuff. That and they could turn their kid in for underage drinking. I doubt suing would be wise.

I wonder why the sale didn't include any games? If the kid was supposed to be playing on it all the time, what was he playing?

Re: Parent revolts in online auction
Couldn't the child sue for parental negligence if they attempted to charge him with theft and underage drinking?

Re: Parent revolts in online auction
They could be charged with parental negligence for NOT doing something about theft and underage drinking. Turning him in would be a smart way to avoid that.

It's more the doubt about whether you could GET a corkscrew into a champagne cork. They're extremely compacted.

That sounds very odd to me, and it's certainly not the case over here.

Maybe in case he was ever good enough to warrant getting a replacement. Means only the machine itself would need replacing.

Re: Parent revolts in online auction
That is hilarious - I hope it's true. And bollocks to the kid sueing, the git deserves everything he's getting by the sounds of it.

Also, adding to what Mark said, think how nice it'll be for the kid to see all the games he COULD be playing kept neatly in their boxes instead. If only he had a PS2 eh?! Quite an evil little reminder.
Alternatively (and as these guys look like experienced ebayers) they probably realise they can get more money by selling the games seperately from the console.

Re: Parent revolts in online auction
I think that parent needs help, he is obviosuly taking great joy from his malice. Any sick f**k that takes pleasure in punishing his child should not be a parent. I feel sorry for that kid, not because he lost his PS2, but because daddy is an ar**hole!

Re: Parent revolts in online auction
bugger that, if its true (which i doubt, too many inconcistencies, i think its just a clever gimmick to sell teh PS2 for more)
but if it is true, that little bastard deserved everything he got, if i had done anything like that at that age, my mother would have ****ing killed me

Re: Parent revolts in online auction
it doesnt make sense that in the time she had gone to pick him up from the ice skating rink, he had managed to get home drink all the beer and some wine and wreck the place up.
She said she got home at 11:30, so im guessing she was up to something else in between and wasnt too worried about her missing son.

Re: Parent revolts in online auction
you don't open a bottle of dom perignon 1995 with a corkscrew indeed
and for cheap-buy chasers they seriously got hooked on the price of that bottle, since I wouldn't pay more then 90 dollars for it, they were robbed for 'bout 30, which is 33%
