Exclamation New Concept : Havoc Suggestion

Ok. So we all know everyone enjoys Havoc Period because it's chaotic and silly.

I figured it could be made a little more interesting if the following occured :

Every planet has all of its Fleet removed.

Each planet is reset to 4k roids.

Each planet recieves a MASSIVE resource injection.

Asteroid Initiation is disabled.


I would say it would make things quite interesting, and force you all to fight long and hard over your roids.

This would of course mean havoc would be a longer period to allow fleet build times and so forth.

Thoughts?

i really like that idea, would bring back all players to an equal level.
when you reset everyones fleet i would suggest to make a protection time for a few ticks, since Ziks can build ships in 4 ticks while other races can´t, so defence will be a bitch

Or, stop ticks when round ends, give everyone resources X ticks later, give everyone 1-tick production time, then restart ticks at some given time, so everyone will have the ships when it starts....waiting Z ticks for ships to build would be boring

yea but it has to be implimentable, that would be alot of work for pa team, I think?!? :S Im just saying it cannot be too out landish otherwise they have to recode bits and play with databases ect.

Nice to see someone thinking outside the box.


The biggest problem with Havoc is that it usually goes on far too long... usually because the next round isn't ready to go yet.

Ideally, Havoc and next round signups should start at the same time. People can play Havoc while waiting for next rounds' ticks to start.


It'll probably never happen...

hehe, I like the ability to build all ships suggestion, but Darky had the best point, is that if you remove all ships and dont equalize production times then Zik will have a free go at anyones asteroids, you could just get 15 zik to attack a gal and there is nothing that gal can do

There's no point having more than 6k roids, so after a couple of successful attacks there'd be nothing to do. Any extended period of havoc is totally pointless - I'm convinced the extended havocs in the past have been due to the next round not being ready, rather than because of any demand for them from the player-base.

The concept of having havoc while next round signups are open is a good one. It would remove the suspicion that havoc is just a poor attempt to keep players' interest whilst the next round is finally being designed, written and half-heartedly tested.

If you're going to reset ships/roids, then you may just as well run a free mini round where everyone starts with whatever it is you want to give them. At least that way, the small percentage of players interested in a longer-lasting havoc will ALL be in fairly active galaxies. Plus it'd give any genuine new players in the free area a chance to meet some of the paying ones (or the paying ones a chance to meet the free ones - as it seems at the moment not paying gives a more fun round than paying: loads of easy targets, no time-limit and you don't have to pay? well worth the 5k less of each resource).

Nomally I would be all up for getting rid of Havoc, and making it a shorter time between rounds, bu they it gives ppl a time off, so I'm all for making Havoc a long and stupid as pos e.g. if you don't do anything with your fleet they "go away" and join another, no recall,ships stay attacking until they can be bothere to leave e.t.c...

Is it possible to time it so that round ends are during term for those of us that ar estill in education.
