She didn't reply because she didn't know how to say "no" without being blunt (apparently)

I asked later if she fancied staying and she said "no", but "would like to", because she had too much work on (gave me a list of essays she had etc etc)

It went well - last time was kind of awkward, as she's very shy.

Things are looking up, we did talk about things.

I'm seeing her on Friday - she says I can come to hers (and I won't be booking taxis home* ho ho ho) after the cinema or something

So a successful night really - as I said, I wasn't really "in it for the sex" so it was fine.

I honestly don't think she would. She does seem very shy like that. It's weird - she's really pretty, but I don't think she's been with many guys (maybe she had a long relationship that she came out of recently, or something - I haven't asked). Your advice is from the school of Hollywood, and isn't true. The thing about the UK (especially Exeter) is that with pretty girls (who you aren't paying.) want you to "sell" yourself, in terms of charm and gaining points on the "I'm a nice guy" scale. Sitting there nodding while they blabber on about themselves? Doesn't happen.

For future reference, invest in your own car. then, promise her a ride home. Try to make her stay as long as possible, so late that its to late to get a cab (and feel safe), then say your ready to take her home, and then say you have car trouble. that will get her to sleep over. Works almost everytime.
Note: won't work if you buy a NEW car.

Sorry tomkat, i am going to have to disagree with that first paragraph. i have been England, Australia, thailand, Phillapines(spelling!!), Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Korea, Guam, and the US. A few more places I can't recall atm. All multiple times. And I have to say, no matter where I was, being a listener got me a lot farther.
But there are a lot of different equations in everyones situation. for instance, you live where you know this girl. I was only there temporary, and so I carried myself different, because my moves didn't matter as much as they were not permanent, as I wouldn't see her ever again in my life. And you will see this girl again. Its hard to argue quality, because it depends what you want.
And word of the wise, A woman knows within the first 10 seconds of speaking with you if she wants to have sex with you. So if she sees you, talks a bit, and determines that she would have sex with you, talking more would just mess it up.

I agree with that last little line. But when your young, and still have your six pack, I think sex is all there is. As you mature, of course you want a good conversationist, and someone who makes you laugh, etc.
