Hi guys.
Just as a by the by, we're saying bye. There are some things money can't buy. A real life, for example!
It was long since decided that LordN and Tzu weren't gonna play more than one round due to the strain HC'ing puts on their respective real lives - LordN was falling behind with his contract work and Tzu has a LOAD of uni work to do now. Smart bugger that he is, learning and shit.
Anyway, without those two it'd be very hard to play as 'NFI', so while we toyed with the idea of playing another round under a different name, alas - it's not to be. It wouldn't be the same, innit?
We'd like to thank everyone for playing, apologise for the boring round and wish everyone all the best for the future.
NFI may be back to PA, and I dare say a lot of the group will stay together in some format or another. You should pm me on IRC if you're looking for a BG of 20-25 of NFI's top players for next round, though I can tell you now I'm not spending any more time on IRC than I can help it.
Winning PA is totally not worth it. You get five PA credits (out of an alliance of near 80) for winning, which takes soooo much time and effort it's not true. And then you can win three credits at the EORC just by having people turn up on IRC for five minutes and tag up. That's 60% of the 'reward' as you get for winning top alliance. Wtf?
The APS this round was balls. It doesn't measure anything meaningful, and while is a good indicator of "effort put in" to some extent (it was only right CT had the second highest score), it doesn't represent the core values of PA.
If you want to increase competition, don't level the playing field - create more competition. Make finishing 2nd alliance and 3rd alliance mean something. If you're making all this money (and we ALL know you are), then surely you can come up with memorabilia or something of material worth for winning a round? How about recognising top covops, scanners, roiders. How about wooden spoon recognition for most roided or biggest crashers?
Mehh. NFI will probably be back in some form or another. We're keeping the band together by opening up a multi-gaming community (located at
www.nofkinidea.com) whereby we're going to stick together and play the likes of FPS and RTS games, and most likely Diablo 3 when it comes out. So we'll have plenty to keep us going at any rate. Also looking forward to that other game that's due out in 450 years from now! And then ultimately because of this 'community', we should be set to come back and pwn again some day!
But yeah,
Cheers guys. Sorry that I was quite shit @ the forums this round.
At least it didn't end excessively more boring than it was otherwise going to, eh?
GG,
Kenny / NFI <3
