Jesus H. Christ: Not A Faggot?
So a big recent publication is the translation of the Gospel of Mary of Magdala, which was, as per usual, not written by Mary of Magdala but written in the second century. Anyway, it's all full of feminist type crap etc. which is kinda why it got left out; apparently early on in the church there was a big fight about the role of women in the church and eventually women lost out.
Some of the early stuff was very pro-women, like [plagiarize]the "Pistis Sophia" scripture which quotes Jesus as telling Mary Magdalene: "You are she whose heart is more directed to the Kingdom of Heaven than all your brothers."[/plagiarize] and the gospel of Philip. And of course, the gospel of Mary Magdala.
But then, some of the gospels were viciously anti-women, like the Thomas one, where Peter says "Let Mary leave us, for women are not worthy of life." and when asked "what of Mary?", Jesus says "I will turn her into a man, because no woman can enter the kingdom of heaven."
Later on, like in the letters and slight editings of the gospels everything got moved to anti-women. The disciple Junia gets her name changed to "Junius" and the letters say things like "Women should be silent during the church meetings. It is not proper for them to speak." and "Women should listen and learn quietly and submissively. I do not let women teach men or have authority over them."
But I don't care about women. But Jesus 'hanging out with his "men"' always looked a little iffy to me, and so quotes like "She is the one the Savior loved more than all the disciples, and he used to kiss her on her mouth often. . . . The rest of the disciples . . . said to him, `Why do you love her more than us?' " begs the question.
Does that mean JC got his freak on (specifically with females)?
