You've gotta love BBC News writers...
I noticed something from this
Its about a stolen robot helicopter...but the interesting thing is
Quote:
Its new helicopter features vertical take-off and the ability to hover.
|
Heh,I wonder has the guy who wrote this ever seen other helicopters.Im pretty sure the over-riding defining characterisitcs of a helicopter are
a) vertical take-off
and
b) the ability to hover
I'd like to see their old helicopter if those are new features.
"well it could just scrape around on the ground then crash into a wall"

Context is everything.

Re: You've gotta love BBC News writers...
Still,in context, its at the bottom of the story and a strange inclusion.

Someone must not have gotten much sleep last night in the BBC...
from this
Quote:
More and more firms are also introducing email filtering software, which can bloke messages that contain inappropriate words or images
|
So what happens when they 'bloke' these messages? Do they dress them shabbily, leave them unshaven, buy them 3 pints of larger and send them to a strip club?

This smacks of Goldeneye,
maybe it's publicity for releasing it over there?

Got an email just now.
Quote:
Dear Sir or Madam
Thanks for pointing out the mistake.
We've given this sentence a good scrub, and it's un-bloke'd now.

well it was just a standard article about the guy, so it was not in any context which would have been suitable for saying Tory Blair.
In the reply they told me it was an accident, but I am not sure if the writer did it on purpose though. I guess if they had admitted it was done on purpose, I could have sold the story to the Sun and it would have been a national scandal. "The BBC Has an Opinion" or something like that.
