Boredom Bonanza
More of my journey through Wikipedia...I discovered the one-hit wonders page.
AND LIKE THAT *POOF* WENT 5* HOURS OF MY LIFE.
It's pretty amazing, they have *many* more pages and lists and more lists of decades and countries with songs and artists. See it's this pop stuff that Wikipedia is great at. I found several songs I haven't heard in awhile and *sniff* it did bring some memories back. Also great for finding that song you don't remember the name of...
*or so.

You clearly must have been bored.
Get a job.
And a life.

Take That are an even worse choice for one hit wonders than Madness
Anyway that wasnt even their best song (Could It Be Magic).
Shampoo - Trouble and 2 Unlimited - No Limits deserve inclusion, as do OMD - Walking on the Milky Way and Space - Female of the Species (although I cant remember if Neighbourhood was a chart hit - it should have been).

I'm sure that page is US-centric. There are UK-specific one-hit wonder lists.

I'd say Bob Dylan - Jack of Hearts is the best US one hit wonder but it would probably get me lynched.

Re: Boredom Bonanza
Fourteen minutes and fifty-nine seconds into our fifteen minutes of fame
When the luck runs out, I won't wonder who's to blame
Because nobody said they had a guaranteed way
to win the hearts of the public who are easily swayed
And just this time last year, I thought we had it made
We were One Hit Wonderful
Livin' the life, playin' the role
We were One Hit Wonderful
Well, it can't last long
They don't love you
They just love that one song
Well, things don't last long in life; that's how it goes
They'll smile and applaud, then turn up their nose
Things will shrink as quickly as they've grown
But it's perfectly normal for us to ask why
The company wasn't untrue, they just didn't try
And a new career is born. It will eventually die
We were One Hit Wonderful
Livin' the life, playin' the role
We were One Hit Wonderful
Well, it can't last long
They don't love you
They just love that one song
That one song...
That one song
So many lovely melodies
So many messages to convey
But they don't care about any of these
"Play that one damn song!" is what they say
We were One Hit Wonderful
Livin' the life, playin' the role
We were One Hit Wonderful
Well, it can't last long
They don't love you
Oh, no!
We were One Hit Wonderful
Livin' the life, playin' the role
We were One Hit Wonderful
Well, it can't last long
They don't love you
They just love that one song

Re: Boredom Bonanza
In going through the list for the US in the 50's and 60's I found 75 records which I currently have in my office as I type this.
